Morning . I did manage croissants this morning, supplied fresh from Lidl. Now sat drinking coffee listening to the wind whistling down the chimney and watching the trees thrashing about behind our house . Just thinking , I really hope it’s not this windy tomorrow morning 😂.
It’s a lovey start to the day , but rain is on the way for this afternoon. . We have managed to get our walk in early and Mrs exlaser is going out this afternoon . So I wondering what trouble I can get into this afternoon……. 😂

My wife is off to the hair place - as mentioned above

looks like I will have to use the time to sort out the U-bend in the kitchen
the sink is draining very slowly

partly due to the pipes being damn close to horizontal before they get to the main drain in the utility room

the kitechn people did make it a lot better when we had the kitchen re-done
but it is still slow so doesn;t really wash stuff down as well as it might!

I see another of my ex colleagues has died. I think that’s been 4 this year.

A friend of mine was an avid attendee of "Office Reunions". He had worked in an Office of 50 or so Civil Engineer types. He became extremely depressed, when, he attended a "Reunion" and there were only 3 of them left, including himself. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss 😊

Raining here and looks like it has been for ages

I did notice that the puddles on the canal paths were still much less than normal at this time of year

but then were still enough to make my bike filthy

Apparently I am taking SWMBO to the hairdresser after lunch
she probably expects that I will pick her up some hours later

I really cannot understand how it takes so long - my hair takes 10 minutes at most!!!

Look on the bright side, "some hours" of peace and quiet.

Every cloud has a silver lining 😂

I went to an "Old Birk Reunion" in London last year

There was a sort of roll cal l of people who had died

it started with a lad who was a pilot in a harrier and took off from the Aircraft Carrier and the engine cut out
crashed and the ship went over the wreckage

there were a few people, including me, who had not been to the previous get together, and we all had one of two to contribute!

we are having another, at the school this time, next week

I suspect some more will be added

funny thing is that pretty much none of our year go to the official things (including the ones in the House of Lords!!!)
but a fair number go to the ones just for us
seems like our year was a bit strange!!

I've never been to a reunion of any description; school, work or whatever.
I have no interest in going and people who do go probably have no interest in me being there..
I might pop into one when I'm dead and scare the bejesus out of them 👍

We have rain, but without the braised beef ect.
I've had the letter too £200 for me  ....
it's a wonder with this government they don't shove a migrant in with me to save money.

Yep: a letter each for MrsPete and I @ £100 each.
I wonder how many £millions they wasted resetting & phaffing around trying to save a few quid.
