Funnily enough I was talking to my sister on the phone last night. She thinks I should get a dog. I don't want one. She says it would be company. I'm not lonely. She says, "yer but this and yes but that. I just don't want one.

As for being adopted by cats, I think my garden has been adopted by all the local cats as a public convenience. That's an adoption I could do without.

A friend of mine had to hang a frigging dart board up for his daughter & her partner as they didn't know what to do.

On the bright side, this implies that they don't have their heads stuck in their cellphones - !

My Facebook memory from 15 years ago. I think global warming is definitely a thing!

Similar to my memory of Norwich in January 2003. Heavy snow was correctly predicted in the afternoon, so the council were ahead of the game and sent the gritters out in good time.
Only problem was the massive tailbacks caused by motorists panicking and leaving work early causing major problems for the gritters which ere then stuck in said tailbacks.
But of course the council got the blame for the problems, they just can't win.

Wandered towards the quay this morning and into what was a small industrial yard but the half a dozen units have been repurposed over a period of time. Chap leaning against a van started chatting and asked if I fancied a drink🤔 Turned out he was the proprietor of " Shanty Spirit " a small craft distillery. There was small bar inside the unit and bottles of the several varieties that they distill. I got to taste three different vodkas, one was Limoncello which was excellent, but the best was the botanical vodka, it had the aftertaste of a peated malt. I was only sampling thimble fulls but a very serendipitous morning.

I have noticed on Facebook that the but that says "People you might know"

has started to include a number of "Ladies" that, from their picture, seem to have forgotten to put their shirt/blouse on before taking the photo
and are of about my age or a bit younger

so they are basically in the underware
and if you look at their profile
they have thousands of "friends"

I have no idea why this has suddenly changed - but my internet search history is so boring that it would not cause this
unless - some "research" says that people with boring search history is a sucker for a romance scam

Do any of you watch " Four in a bed" on Channel 4" ? I am always amazed at some of the prices charged for an over night stay. Some b&bs charge £350 and sometimes, it doesn't even include breakfast!!
Who in his right mind is going to pay that sort of money for a few hours sleep?
We stayed in Yorkshire a couple of months back, near Settle, and we paid £75 for one night, including a full English breakfast.
I just can't understand why someone would pay hundreds of pounds for a few hours sleep.
