Day in the workshop for me; reassembling the Barracuda top end after a bit of investigative surgery.
It was running terribly the other day - thought it might be a sticky inlet valve, so I whipped the cylinder head off to see. Nope, it wasn't that - but I did notice that the inlet tract was 'gummy' - then it dawned on me. I reckon that the ethanol in the petrol had been attacking the inside of the fibreglass tank and contaminating the fuel.
The fuel tank has now been treated with an ethanol resistant resin.
I reckon it'll be OK when I ditch the fuel that was in the tank (which does look dicoloured) and stick some fresh stuff in it.
