Happy St Andrews Day 🤗

On today's ride we had a few drops but rode through a lot of areas that had experienced heavy downpours judging from the puddles and running water we encountered.

Morning all.
'Twas dark and the bed was warm but I have been a brave boy and dragged myself up.
As with elsewhere it should be a bright cool day.
Little to do today. I should be OK for the treadmill. My team are on tv later, I will force myself to watch them getting beat again.
Have a good day all.

Morning all :hello:

Going to be decent weather today by the looks of it.
Will be out for a walk later and then lunching at the Railway Inn.

Bruce walked. Enjoying a coffee.

Mrs D was a bit maudlin yesterday, telling me I should expand my cooking skills in case anyrhing happened to her. That upset me a bit (the thought of something happening to her, not the criticism of my admittedly dreadful culinary skills) but it prompted a conversation about what we'd do if one of us did find themselves suddenly alone.

In my case id wait until Mini D finished school and I'd be back home to Scotland so fast you'd hear the sonic boom in Hampshire.

difficult - personally it is only family that would keep me here

I like the area but I was happier with the area when I was in North Wales
or possibly the WIrral

but I wouldn;t want to be much further away from the grandkids
and I feel I would need to stay near my wife's sister and help if I could

I certainly wouldn’t be moving back to Northampton, 35 years there was enough!

I don't mind the corner where I am. Its Q enough, no real hassles, fairly convenient amenities, andnI know from my policing career not much happens up my end , but im not a townie and if chafes on me a bit. Id be no more comfortable in any other town. Mrs D knows I become homicidal in built up areas and steered us towards the very edge of town.

Although my relationship with Scotland is complicated, being from immigrant stock on one side, cornish-Breton bloodline on the other, then and accidentally being born in Kent, I spent from a few days after birth to my early teens in Scotland and it's the closest thing to home I have, and as ti e goes by the pull gets stronger.

But rather than the islands ill stay on the mainland to make it easier to see family. Ill get a small place in Wenlockhead or Leadhills if I ever found myself alone. Thst woukd allow me to pocket almost half a mill from the current house, on top of current ssvings, pensions and insurances, which would make me an easy millionaire and keep me in Ginsters pasties for a while. And maybe the odd bass.

With MS, diabetes, and sarcoidosis, Mrs Dmis very aware of her mortality. Normally shes very chirpy and meets challenges head on, but I think yesterday she was a bit tired and let a bit of the doubt and fear leak out.

Hugs to @Drago - here's hoping Mrs D is around to keep you under control for many many years yet

You are enough trouble as it is - only teh Gods knows how much trouble you - and your underpants - would cause on here without her moderating influence!!!!

Anyway - looking at going for a ride soon as it looks OK out

MIGHT just happen to go on a route that passes the Dinky Cafe Boat on the canal
just by coincidence you understand - these things happen
