A hike to town then completing the Mystery Treasure Hunt wander around town with pals.
We started it a year ago, got too cold after a couple of hours (with their slow walking dog!) & failed to find a time until now.
Still, will end with a nice lunch and beers 🍻

Silly question but I assume a combo lock still needs a chain/cable. Surely bolt cutters can cut throught that ?

I have 2 and they are on the end of a cable

I can find the combination on both just by pulling them and fiddling with the dials
so they are just for parking up when I stop for a coffee and can see it!

When I was a teacer in a "difficult" school I was teaching IT and had 2 cupboards with laptops in them
In their undoubted wisodm the IT support from the council insisted on having combination locks on the cupboards

One of the kids cracked it!
to be fair to him - he left the lock closed but not pushed together so it LOOKED OK until I looked closely - rather then taking anything
WHen I asked him he said the challenge was just too much
which was fair enough I though - I would have!!

as an extra - the IT support refused to let us change the combination after that!!

I've switched my degree from international relations to environmental science. The first module is the same for each and, with my previous science education, I'm finding it very interesting.

So, I started out wanting to something totally different and ended up back with science studies, although down a different rabbit hole to msy last one.

Mrs Tkk's first one was work related and medical focussed. Her Masters dissertation last year was on Cholera in Geordieland so quite adjacent🤔

Bright and Chilly. I have lunch with 4 ex work colleagues, worked with them for 40+ years. The conversation will inevitably drift to various incidents and mishaps that occured over the years. One is still working part time a couple of days a week.
In other news my shower has started a steady drip drip drip. We live in a hard water area and the thermostatic cartridge has probably gunked up with limescale. I did try to remove it myself but couldn't budge it, Plumber is booked in for next week, meanwhile Mrs Tkk has said that I am allowed to use her shower in the interim...

As I am feeling better but not really 'over' this cold i phoned my friend to tell him and give him the choice. Turns out he has had the same symptoms all week eg nose streaming, chesty cough etc.
I googled it an it says you are contagious for a full week AFTER your symptoms have gone. Who knew that!

They're too busy buying and dealing drugs at our local Uni to have time to steal a bike.

I showed this to my daughter who did her degree and masters there and she said that was a nasty slur on a lovely uni , oh and she called you a very nasty name too 😂.

On the other hand I have seen plenty of drug dealing in Semilong where her student house was when she was doing her degree . I was much happier with the location of her accommodation when she did her masters and so was she and her new housemates, as it was very close to loads of takeaways 😀.

Morning all .
It must be Christmas, you know how I know ?
1) Christmas presents have been chosen and ordered, and most importantly,
2) I have been tasked/ordered , risking life and limb I have to add, in retrieving the Christmas decorations from the loft. 😀😀.

In other more mundane news , a new fridge freezer, to replace the new faulty one , has been chosen and will be delivered on Thursday . It will be nice to have a fridge that will be cooler than 10 degrees 😀.
It’s annoying when new stuff doesn’t work properly, but at least it’s less hassle than when something goes wrong after six months or a year.

Just come back froma ride plus post ride shower

Managed to do the normal loop - puddles are getting bigger but still not as big as they have been in past years
I can even get past most of "The Big One" in Moore nature reserver - I normally have to take to the side route

anyway - bike was filthy when I got back so I hosed it all down and dried it off with the leaf blower

Did have a weird thing on the path back from Warrington
4 blokes riding together were coming round a corner as I was approaching it
I slowed right down but they stayed riding next to each other ratehr thna one of two slowing down a fraction to make room
I ended up stopped off the path to give them room to get past

They did say "Thank You" as they went past - but riding across the whole path when you could easily see another cyclist coming was a bit weird

Back from the pub, I enjoyed that.
Bird feeders have been filled up.
Dishes are being washed......just letting some of them soak while I type.
Food ?? I don't feel like cooking so will have a ready meal, probably chicken and pasta with tomato based sauce (can't remember the fancy Italian name).
