I always stipulate NOT to auto renew but it's surprising how some 'accidentally' ignore that and renew anyway.

Whenever I take out a years anything I make an entry in Google calendar to remind me 50 weeks later.

They should ban auto renewal, and anyone dumb enough not to keep their affairs in order should suffer the consequences if they are negligent and "forget" to renew.

I put mine in an old fashioned physical diary. It doesn't stop those sneaky barstewards renewing it against your wishes though.........its happened to me twice in recent years. Then you have the mither of phoning them to ensure it is refunded.

Right - sometime this morning the grand kids are arriving so their parents can go for a weekend in York for His birthday

You can tell it is for him - there are things to see and look at rather than just lots of shops!

anyway they are staying overnight
the 13 year old (female) moaned that she wanted to make cookies for her friend - we have said she can make them here but I suspect she will need some ingredients
apparently the friend is Vegan - so - err - no idea

Just seen an advert on some news site or other saying

This wine will have people talking at the Christmas dinner table

which always makes me think of
"What did you buy this cheap carp for???"

Marketing companies often seem to miss out my demographic!

It's that time of year again for me when i have to start looking at insurance of the house and contents insurance. Renewal date of 2nd January. I'm staying with admiral for contents but will be moving from them for building. Them to look around.

I've never thought of splitting them either, tbh.

Good idea!

I have a friend who, unbelievably, still uses a wall calendar!

When he comes up here and we have a future date to set, he photographs the appropriate page(s) of his calendar on his phone, he uses these to sort a date with me and then amends his 'proper' calendar accordingly when he goes home. 2025!

@Drago have you heard of a punk band called 999 ?
Formed 1976 and still have 2 of the original members. Another one joined 35 years ago.
They have been on ToTPs back in the day

Anyway, my SiLs group (Tic no Tok) were the support act last night. They are also a punk type group.

I have heard of them and even had their album. Their most well known song was “ Emergency“

Christmas & buying presents  .
For historical reasons Sue and I never celebrated Christmas. Daughter and family love it.
I have been 'dragged' into it and enjoy watching the family enjoy it.
However I find buying/choosing presents difficult.
The 'kids' are (to me) easy as they seem to appreciate cash !!!.
I have discovered this wonderful invention called "click and collect" so have now sorted daughter n SiLs out....within 30 minutes i got an email to say it's ready in-store at online prices.... amazing.
