As I will be officially old in March I have been looking at bus passes
Turns out - as far as I can tell - that in spite of being part fo the great and wonderful Liverpool City Region I will not be eligibale for a Buss pass from them
Instead I get from from Halton - which means Widnes and Runcorn - and apparently also Cheshire West - including Warrington
It is basically like this is anyone asks where I live
Well I pay Counsel Tax to Halton
but the Ambulances and Fireengines say Cheshire on them
The Police are from Cheshire Police
We are part of the Ceremonial County of Cheshire
The buses etc operate closer with Cheshire than Merseyside except for a couple of express ones to Liverpool
Occaisionally the Liverpool City Region Mayor (who seems to do a reasonable job for Merseyside AKA the rest fo the region) occasionally comes round here
but only to do something relating to The Bridge
It is all a bit of a mess - no idea what we pay to be a member of it all for

My Bro lives in Birkenhead (Merseyside) and they get free bus, rail and ferry (to
Liverpool).
In Warrington we get free bus after 09.30.
