Morning all old farts and a merry Christmas to you.
May I echo the thoughts of our Mr Numbnuts re those on thier own.
With the family living in the main house and them really 'into' the Christmas thing it's on a plate for me.
I am invited to join them for breakfast ie bacon butties etc and opening of presents.
The main meal (around 4ish) will be soup, prawn cocktail, turkey & beef all followed by mince pies and goodies.

In all my years I have never celebrated Christmas so this is a 1st for me.
Mo/Numbnuts/Old hippy (sorry if ive missed anyone)......keep in touch and help me stay at least half sane during this madness.

Good morning. A very Merry Christmas to you all. We have 23 cards. I sent three so we're 20 up on the deal. The three I sent are to folk I won't see and are really important to me. That's how we do cards, send them to folk we won't see. I called my oldest and dearest friend last night.
Today? Our second son is staying for a couple of days. At 10.15ish we will head out to my third son and DIL to see them and #1 and #3SPs. Back home and then first son and DIL with #2SP will arrive for lunch at 1.00pm. We'll eat at 3.00ish.
We will be eating:
Dips and nibbles followed by:
Roast rib of beef
Roasties
Yorkshires'
Roasted carrots and parsnips
Leeks in cheese sauce
Tender stem brocolli
Beef gravy
Nut roast
Veggie gravy
Christmas pudding
Truffle
Cheese
All the above in small amounts. Hopefully no leftovers other than beef. Ever tried to buy a small rib joint? Why are cows so big? 🤣
Being half Italian, half Ukrainian Mrs P doesn't do small time hospitality!!!

Quiet day today. Out for a stroll, then back for our traditional egg & chips.

It’s a veggie Christmas again here: kids both veggie, us not but happy to let them cook 🤣
Although fish made it to th lineup for starters (son had some serious gut health issues earlier this year and now eats fish as a result). Salmon blinis, I believe, followed by some veggie pithivier & a nut roast plus all the veggie trimmings.
Forecast for the evening is windy 🤪
All is quiet now though…time for my morning trawl of the internet, shhhh!

Good morning from a hotel room in Leeds. A lovely get together last night, lots to eat and drink including a lentil Dahl made by eldest daughter's chap. Decided that it is too risky to do parkrun due to all the rich food.
