Afternoon folks :okay: i dont really do xmas but always cook myself a curry as i do like to eat well over the festive period. This year its prawn recipe from Madhur Jaffrey, ive just made the base sauce which has cumin/coriander/cinnamon/ginger/garlic/chillie/cardamom/tumeric/garam massalla/yoghurt/tomatoes, i'll let this rest for an hour or so and then remove the whole spices [ever chomped on a whole cardamon!] then add the prawns and let them marinate until i cook them later. I still have fresh mint in the garden so will make a cucumber/mint raita together with a indian salad and chutney :okay:

That sounds wonderful though you might be surprised I love biting into a whole cooked cardamom. One of my favourite spices.

Yes, I get this. Already there's music that hits me hard.......

Yes, it won't mean much to most people but Sue and I went to see the Proclaimers, a really good night. It was only last week that I could bring myself to play the cd.
Similarly we went to see Les Mis' and bought the dvd of the 40th anniversary. I have not yet been able to watch that yet. The family are on holiday early January and my plan is..... get myself a stiff drink and watch it while having a good blub.

Hope the giving up alcohol hasn’t gone by the wayside. It’s seemed like you have been doing better since you cut it out? A one off treat?

Has anyone else received even less Christmas cards than me? A grand total of 5 this year.

No Mo, I have done well on the alcohol front......had one drink several months ago.
If, a big if, I decide to have one in January it will be a one off.
Strange really but I am fortunate that I gave up with no problem. And also strangely, it doesn't bother me if I am with others who are drinking.
