Watched David Attenborough " Wild London " on catchup last night. Wonderful to see. Coincidentally looked out the kitchen window this morning and saw an adult fox sauntering down the road. Off to Toby Carvery with our granddaughter this afternoon, then get some school shoes ( talk about last minute! ) I expect the shops to be crowdwed with other prevariacators.

I have that recorded and plan to watch it tomorrow when I have a chill out tv day.

There are some strange people in Lancashire

comes of being too close to Yorkshire!

Parts of Lancashire were in Yorkshire.
Parts of Yorkshire, that were in Yorkshire are now in Lancashire.

And the folk in the streets are not to blame for the above.
Both make me smile. As a born and bred southerner I've been proud to live in both counties since 1976. Love them both in equal measure. York remains my spiritual home and I think always will be.

Yorkshire's idiosyncrasies can be quite wonderful.

My mother was a real council house snob.
We lived on the Wirral and many years** ago 'they' changed it from Cheshire to Merseyside. My mum simply refused to write that on her letters...... she insisted on writing Wirral.
**Ebiker do you remember that happening ?

Oh yes - my Mum was the same

My Dad came from Liverpool (near the racecourse) and Mum was always of the opinion that The Wirral was a better place

she was very not happy about being in Merseyside!!!!

Just remembered - she started giving our address as "Moreton, Wirral."
Rather than "Moreton, Wirral, Cheshire"

although I seem to remember that technically that was the correct POSTAL address in some ways - maybe that was a later change???

-7°C blooming cold!

Mrs SD is ordering stuff for Spring - leggings, ankle boots, pumps, bra (bloody expensive Bravissimo jobbies). This activity looks expensive.

Me: window shopping fancy smart speakers, casual wear fleecy jogging bottoms and cursory look at eRoad bikes and probable new car.

What fun!

Enjoy the balance of your day (got up very late here!)

Just back from school shoe shopping. Lucky to find the correct style and fit first time, then granddaughter ended up walking out of the shop with a pair of fur lined winter boots as well as her school shoes. A soft touch I very much am😁.
Treated ourselves to a Toby ( veggie ) carvery. Granddaughter has quite a different palate to what you would expect in an 8 year old. Demolished the roast parsnips and Brussels sprouts / peas, then proceeded to wrap the large parsnip that she couldn't manage in a couple of paper serviettes and put it in her pocket for " if I'm hungry later " . Got home and we asked if she would like strawberry trifle or a slice of stollen, " no thanks grandad, i'm still quite full and I still have a parsnip to eat " 🤔
