That is correct sir.

A woman I used to work with used to wear them to work sometimes
especially if one of the "managers" was being a pain

She revealed this to us one day in the pub - said sitting there listening to one of them (all blokes obviously as the company had a problem with gender balance that it was fixing slowly ) knowing what she was wearing under her normal dress made her feel more powerful
The group in the pub at the time were just the programmers - superior people - they tended to lose half their brain when they moved over to system analysis and management!!!

Good morning all.
We are snowless, without snow. Forecast is very mixed so today we will get what we are given.
Another heavy sleep. Had one coffee and about to make a 2nd one.
Re meeting girls as teenagers.
Was "courting" with a girl. Really, seriously in love........ and she ditched me. No warning. I was walking her back to get the ferry when she just told me.
Sue was a friend of hers. She wrote to me l, I wrote back and that was it , it just sort of grew.
Anyway, it's a nowt to do sort of day.
I will crawl into the shower and see what that does for me

Exactly. Friday/Saturday night you made an effort. Went out looking what you hoped was your best. It was tough, very, very tough......well for me it was. I don't recall young men discussing this stuff 50+ years ago.

Mrs D mkII chatted me up.

Mrs D mkI I got chatting to in a shop. In order to avoid a repetition I now do all my shopping online.

There will be no Mrs D mkIII. I've met the love of my life and if anything should happen to her thats it with dating for me. Im of the age where a leg over just for the sake of it isnt something that interests me and I wouldn't want another relationship. It'd be pack up and move back home with my dogs and become a hermit.

My daughter wanted me to go to one of those meeting type things for single old farts. I am not interested in meeting anyone after Sue.
A local pub used to 'host' one every Tuesday morning. Free coffee/tea and bickies. Just to meet different people. Sounds good but I didn't go. I had a vision of walking in and everyone already being in groups of people they already know.

My buddies came with me and we had a good natter over coffee, went to the LBS and drooled over more bikes. The urge to own beautiful bikes is very strong.

It is! Wife and I are off to London in Feb to watch a few shows and as it happens we're staying quite near Cycle Exchange so I've got my eye on a couple of Pinarellos I'm lusting after. There's a few F7 and Dogmas for sale there which I really fancy. Second hand but look immaculate so can get a top end bike at a semi-sensible price.

Spending the kids inheritance...

I have some remote contact with some of those group via AgeUK and it seems that they are normally very good at introducing new people and making sure they are accepted

I would be scared witless - like I said to Accy yesterday on another thread
so it is a possibility if you wanted to expand your social circle

But why would you when you have the people on here??
Lovely group of people - couldn;t find a more sensible and normal bunch!!!

Ok well - today I woke up expecting to go and see someone via AgeUK and help them with some computery thing

turns out it has been cancelled - he used AI t help him and is fine now!!

so I'm free for the day - so I was wondering about a ride and glanced casually at the shed

and noticed my helmet and gloves sitting happily on the brick flower bed next to it

they had been out all night and is soaked - especially the gloves!!!!!

burk!

Do you mind. I’m a bit of a weirdo and definitely not normal!

Since this cold weather doesn’t look like letting up I have just ordered a pair of Oodie cosy pyjamas. I won’t sleep in them but they will be cosy for sitting in the evenings.

Show us a photo of the new frame then so we can drool over it.

Oh, go on then, seeing as you asked. She's a beautiful deep green. Last time I held a bare frame was 10 years ago. My LBS handed me a C3 frame and asked "how about this?" I fell in love. 😍

My wife got some soft cuddly pyjamas for the daughter-in-law for Christmas - the kids were very impressed and her husband said they were very nice

a few days later, we were asked to have the kids overnight
I suspect there was some connection - but have not been allowed to mention it!!!!
