Well, snowmageddon was very disappointing. By the time I'd got outside with the dogs it had stopped and none was on the ground. I men, sheesh, I pay enough bloody council tax.

Currently 1.5 celsiuses and sat down with a Nescafe.

Good morning all from a damp Barnet.
It's a bit cool and drizzling. Proper rain forecast for this afternoon.
No cycling for the next few days looking at the weather forecast, so back to the mancave on the turbo with the music on the Bluetooth speaker.
I've got a few errands to run today, prescription meds for me, meds from the Vets for millie, and get some white fish from Iceland, the shop, not the country Classic😁
Second mug of tea now being drunk :cuppa:
Enjoy your day everyone.

What, tapped off, copped off or both?

Crikey, this is bringing back some teenage memories...
It's just as well I read back the last few pages. I'm a little shocked by the behaviour in my absence.

I've never heard "tapped off" but "got off," "copped off," and scored all meant the same thing. One went to a party/pub/disco and met a girl. That was it. Nothing more. If you were lucky you might see her again.

@Dave7 "sussies" suspenders?? I'm younger than you.

Good morning. Damp and cold again. We have a yellow warning for severe snowfall at 5.00pm. We will see.

Picked up my new bike frame yesterday. 975 grams!!!! 😲 Not often one gets to hold just the frame. It's beautiful.

My buddies came with me and we had a good natter over coffee, went to the LBS and drooled over more bikes. The urge to own beautiful bikes is very strong. I did have drinking chocolate. It was divine. So good that when it came time for a second I tried the white drinking chocolate. Bliss. Today is a Paul day. Nothing much on. Mrs P is out pretty much all day. I'll go for a walk, pop into the gym, drop the frame at my LBS and do some admin. I need to think about tea.

I often think this when I hear about online dating. People complain how difficult it is to meet a single man/woman.

Did they never experience the terrible nervousness, fear of rejection and overall shyness of our youth??? You'd spot a wonderful looking girl across the room. Your options? One!!! There was only one. Walk over and speak to her with what seemed like the eyes of world looking on. The fear of instant rejection hammering at you.

As a young man it was truly awful...........fortunately Mrs P "chatted up" me. We probably wouldn't have met otherwise. I still recall being gobsmacked the following lunchtime when this vision walked into the pub. We'd arranged to meet. I didn't expect it to happen though.

Good Morning from a grey and tropical Dorset with temperatures set to rise to 11 degrees this afternoon. I keep track of various friends on Garmin Connect and I noticed that one of our Scottish friends has a new running route which, similarly to our Mo's " Chilly Willy walk " seems a tad phallic. Not sure if it's something in the water up there🤔.

No exciting shapes this morning. Just a rather slow and careful stroll with a few little oops moments on slippy bits.

Show us a photo of the new frame then so we can drool over it.

Not before I retired these sating apps were becoming a thing.

One day a young bobby, nice lad, was in the office and somehow the conversation turned to dating.

Young man whips out his phone, swipes left and right to show us how it works, and reckoned hed met loads of women for a bit of a leg over.

My fellow sergeant that day was another ex squaddies, albeit hed been in the green machine far longer than me. He puffed out his chest and proclaimed, "none of that rubbish for me, back in my day if we wanted to meet women we'd dress up and go to a bar and pull a bird the old fashioned way, none of this Bucket of Fish nonsense."

The whole office fell about laughing, and from that day on dating apps were always referred to as Bucket of Fish.

Exactly. Friday/Saturday night you made an effort. Went out looking what you hoped was your best. It was tough, very, very tough......well for me it was. I don't recall young men discussing this stuff 50+ years ago.
