Good morning all.
Not as cold as yesterday or as the forecast threatened. A mix of showers and sunshine is now promised.
Not a lot on today, just a lot of 'stuff' to sort out prior to decorating and new carpets starting this week.
I have lots of DVDs and old videos that Sue accumulated when the grandkids were young, some of them still in wrappers. I also have books eg large dictionaries and other reference books that nobody will want.......what do I do with them ?
Big decisions to make.

Charity shop?

Right - had breakfast and on second coffee

did think about a ride but the weather looks like one of those days where the forecast says 80% chance of rain but it might well miss us

clouds and rain is coming over the mountains and hills in North Wales and often drops it all there and over North Liverpool and when is gets to the low lying areas around here it is dry

dunno - the cafe boat is at the aquaduct - which is nice
(Always makes me smile - aqueduct - soaring stone arches marching majestically across a scenic wooded valley and rushing river passing under
or, in this case - a steel bucket about 15 foot long going over a narrow road covered in mud and twigs and general natural detritus!)

but the canal at that point is in a nice place overlooking the fields out towards the railway

The new state pension from April is £241.30 per week, which equates to £12547.60 per year, which is just below the taxable threshold.
I take it that you are getting some kind of enhanced pension.?

Yes. There is a bit of SERPS on top of Basic.

Can I ask why? You must, like me, have enrolled in SERPS or whatever it was later called. That pays an additional state pension, mine is £1647, which takes me over the tax threshold. Tax is payable.

The SP is paid by the DWP. Imagine the chaos if the DWP deducted tax and paid it to HMRC.

Yes, SERPS.
