See, Mrs D has one no fault claim from when some with drove into her parked car. They reckon it raises her risk which is patent bollards - she ain't never parking in that sport again!

This is a rather common response from the thieving gits the insurance companies

Like a lot of rather dodgy statements it makes sense to some extent
e.g. if there is a very dangerous road near you that you use every day for commuting then clearly you chances of having a problem are greater
or if you routinely park on a dangerous road where a lot of cars loose control and crash into parked cars then again your risks are higher

but, as normal, they take that concept and run with it out the area of common sense, out of its country and way beyond the national borders

They should have to show that you always park there - and that parking in that place is a higher risk
but no - that would require effort and reduce profits

What me - cynical???

That happened to Sue when a hit and run driver got her. She took the number and the police followed it up. It still affected her premium...... the explanation was that it indicates you are more likely to be hit.
As you say, they are thieving b*stards.

A brisket start to the day.
The engine service light came on yesterday, although it was mot'd and serviced last week, it always comes on on the 3rd of March, presumably it is programmed to do so as the car was first registered on this day in 2017, so I was out early and cancelled that.
The bathroom sink was blocked with the usual gunk, so I got my trusty bit of wire coat hanger out and unblocked that.
Sainsbury's have just been a delivered the goodies.
Out with the dog shortly then a quick hoover up before I go out on the bike.

@ebikeerwidnes by coincidence there is a company called House of Hearing offering home treatment for £60 during March.

Just got a letter from teh Department for Work and Pensions telling be that they will start lobbing some money my way and how much


I am sure Rachel will want some of it
but it is nice to have someone giving me some more money every month!

Just checked the solar panel system and the batteries are fully charged!!!

didn;t think the solar panels would generate much with the sun being quite low

but whatever - just made a cuppa and while the kettle was boiling the Smart meter was logging zero watts being used!!!!

Just nipped to Aldi. That sun is very low . Careful driving needed.
All prep work is done ready for the new carpet tomorrow although I will give it another hoover before they arrive.
Big decision to make....... .. for tea, do I have cod, chips and mushy peas or chicken chow mein. Th chow mein is easiest but both appeal.
I will sit and cogitate.

I had it done after I moved in

I am not totally certain about it being financially worth it long term but it is certainly helping out a lot

it would e better if the electric companies still had the "free electric after 2 a.m." offers that some like Octopus used to have

but EDF had a thing where I got free electric on Sunday as I had diverted power away from "peak periods" of 4-7 in th evenings
in reality I set the batteries to charge off the grid before 4 so we used them for a few hours before they ran out
then got free power all day Sunday

Our roof is not ideal and we can only have a few panels in 2 different groups but it does work pretty well when it has some sun
