We have been having food bags and a special bin to put it in for years here in North Wales so we are miles ahead of England.

We've had it since the late 80s, both in the MK council area that then covered our village, and latterly South Northants for the last village and now West Northants for the edge of town. I can remeber being on leave on 1990 and arguing with MK council because their collection folk had failed to place my bin where id left it and it had gone spastrey.
Unless they were doing it near on 40 years ago theyre miles behind much of England. I think the government initiative is more about increasing take up by standardisation of bins, methods and mixing of waste, rather than getting anyone to do anything they couldn't already.

I'll be gardening most of today and checking all my fencing as we will be having a new arrival on Monday.
