We've had it since the late 80s, both in the MK council area that then covered our village, and latterly South Northants for the last village and now West Northants for the edge of town. I can remeber being on leave on 1990 and arguing with MK council because their collection folk had failed to place my bin where id left it and it had gone spastrey.

Unless they were doing it near on 40 years ago theyre miles behind much of England. I think the government initiative is more about increasing take up by standardisation of bins, methods and mixing of waste, rather than getting anyone to do anything they couldn't already.

**the co-op has a meal deal on eg 2 x Indian meals, 2 sides ie naan, bahjies plus 4 cans of beer or coke. All for £10.00 as a member. It will all freeze.
I really hope I'm not too late with this advice: please, whatever you do, don't freeze the cans of beer/coke!

I'm not too sure what qualifies as food waste? Is this the remains of a cooked meal? We rarely have anything left over from a meal.

I've recycled all organic waste, vegetable peelings etc for 40+ years. It's called a compost heap. The council aren't having that!

Have you been mis-sold a static caravan? You could be due compensation. I kid you not. The ambulance chasers are now trying to win claims for folk with mobile homes. The service is advertised on local radio.

We've had similar since late 2007. But the bags when put out generally get thrown in the wheelie bin by the bin men.
The small caddy has long since disappeared, leaving only the larger one for outdoor use. The contents of which end up in the back of the bin wagon.

Local council not due/in a position to start with the new laws until October. Six months late.
