I get very impatient with old people. They dither over menus, they dither over buffets, can't make there mind up whether to have cold meats or cheeses, should they have salad with or without tomatoes or whatever. They get in the way, have no spacial awareness of who is around them block the ailes and generally hold everyone up.
But we can't say anything as we have to be tolerant.

Trouble is, I am 67 now (crikey pushing 68) but for the.most part, simply dont feel it. Get in, crack on, I dont suppose (and hope) i will ever be that dithering old fella.
It's not an age specific thing (spatial awareness etc)..I sometimes find myself telling my kids (now in their 40s)
'c'mon, get out the way', cos they always seem to be 'in the way ' (in a nice way of course)

An upside and downside to retirement... the visit to a local cafe..
Im decorating again (phase 3 of the hall stairs and landing, gloss doors, woodwork and paint walls, its a big job done in manageable bits)
So im hungry, off to the cafe to get a breakfast...to be confronted by a major amount of fellow retirees ordering their frappe latte with oatmilk or whatever..and they take a lot of time and effort to prepare. It's always bugged me, I am by my own admission impatient, I like to get on, get done, I always find myself stuck behind people ordering time consuming beverages.
It's not a good thing im that way, I know,...

You are not alone 😊

Me too 😊

You forgot “and they insist on rooting through the whole shelf for the packet with the longest date/leanest meat/whatever other virtue they require of their purchase” 😡

hey... I do that 😊

...and then their purse figuring out how to get the correct amount of money to pay, in coins, after they took a handful out of their savings jar this morning.

Not guilty, I pay with my iPhone (pretending to one of the young ones) 😊

Another thing that gets me going, and this is not just about old people, but those who are waiting at a bus stop. The bus arrives and then they start rooting around in their bags or pockets for the bus pass or card to pay the fare when they step onto the bus.

not guilty, Bus Pass at the ready, with my phone

Sorry to tell you this, you will be, eventually, although, at 78, I haven't reached it yet 😊

Forgot this thing

Got to an independent living place yesterday to do my volunteering things with Age UK

The visitor car park is OK - but not that big
There was a big SUV type thing parked across 2 spaces!!
and you couldn;t even say maybe someone else was parked badly before so he just parked next to them and then looked like an idiot when they left
the space to his (or her) right was the end space so they left only half a space there!

and in case they might have been disabled I checked
there are disabled spaces in front of the building - and all were free and far closer!
