Morning all :hello:

Glorious sunshine today.
I've got to go to the Post Office this morning to send a parcel. I'll nip out on the Bantam, as its ideal for short local trips. Might take the long scenic route back.

Well, today is officially the first working day of my retirement, given that yesterday was a bank holiday and not many were in work anyway.

But guess what? Am I going fishing, or riding my bike, or taking a nice long walk, or playing in the garden, or, even sitting on my old arse all day doing zilch....NO, none of those things....I'm going....wait for it.....to WORK!!!😳
I'd have just said "No!"

Good morning from a glorious, sunny Lancashire. Home from five great days in Yorkshire, Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a lovely small town. Driving cross-country from home reminded me of how beautiful Yorkshire is and what a special place it is for us. I'm not a born Lancastrian so I can say that! 🤣

Starting last Tuesday we've had either two or three granddaughters every day bar Wednesday. Picking up two again this morning, that's seven days out of eight. Nackered doesn't come close.........

Might pop back later........👋

My Bro worked for the NHS. When he retired they took him on part time on double what he had been earning full time.

I think that type of thing happens a lot. If your employer doesn't take sufficient action to cover your position, and then all of a sudden you're not there anymore, your value becomes all the more apparent!

That puts you in a very strong negotiating position should you want to remain in some capacity. I don't, but the gaffer's been good to me over the years, I don't mind helping him out until the works manager is ship shape again.

Good morning all.
I have been cheated. Yesterday 'they' promised i would get 20° today......now they've dropped it to a miserable 19° . On the other hand tomorrows promise is now forecast to be a heady 21°.
This morning is that social meet at the local pub at 10.00. I could so easily give it a miss and enjoy the garden but I will give it another go. Hope I dont win another £25, it was embarrassing tbh.
Right, must put my phone on charge as I forgot to do it yesterday.
Oh BTW....I had another jaunt on my invalidity scooter yesterday. It was to the co-op which is approx a 2 mile round trip and after my 1 mile walk it was impossible to walk there as well. A goal i have is to put my rucksack on and do a shop there.

Enjoy the get together - I am told it is good for you

you might learn some more jokes for the jokes thread!!!
