Greetings from a foggy Hadleigh. The temperature was hovering twixt 0°c & +3°c on the way here.

Been to see the unveiling but failed to see it as there was too many people. I did manage to see Michael Paline when he got out of the Range Rover though .
Will go back during the week to have a proper look at it. Apparently, it is quite small.

Right - What year is it???

I'm asking because I have just got a letter from the Inland Revenue
and they have sent me a cheque!!!!

What on Earth am I supposed to do with that???
not seen one for a few decades or so!!!

Luckily I have a Santander account and - by some miracle - they still have a bran open on our high street
so I will go down there on Monday and see what you have to do with cheques

apart from registering them as an historic relic!!

You are lucky with Santander still being there. Ours went several years back. Over the past year I have had quite a few cheques to pay in. The PO take ages and I don`t do phone app banking. The nearest open Santander is 15 miles away. On one ocassion I went to pay a cheque in, they were closed for a refit. They are only open 3 days a week anyway. Derrrrh !

Foggy start here in East Cambs but sunny by about 9:00.
Was due out for a ride today and had the bike and everything ready but not really in the mood so was out in the garden all day.

Should have added that we had the first sighting of Swifts in the afternoon.

Today was a walk to the shops ,a bit of gardening ,cheese on toast, some relaxing in the garden ,then planted an Ivy (not the standard one!), and re-planted a fern and two Euphorbias.

Tonight is wine, houmous and cheese plus watching some more Jeeves and wooster.
