Hey, while I remember. We're dying out. Faster than we realise!!! Before KO Guy Mowbray was looking back at previous world cup semis in 2014, 1990 and commented to the effect "A dwindling few will recall the first in 1966." Dwindling??? Everybody I know recalls 1966, perhaps not the game but at least the year. I am not, repeat NOT, ready to dwindle................yet!

I'm definitely not dwindling just yet.

@Drago and others with doggy knowledge.
On my walk a guy jogged past with a lovely alsation jogging with him, not on a lead and very well behaved.
Coming the other way was a guy with 2 dogs on leads. They were sort of long haired lurcher types, fully grown. He just had no control over them and fought to keep them away from the alsation.
When our paths crossed it was the same ie they were trying to jump up at me** and it was all the guy to do to hold them back. He was really struggling to hold them back.
My question is.......why have dogs if you cant control them ?
**I dont know if the were vicious as they were not snarling or barking, just out of control.

Morning all :hello:

New ignition stator installed on the Puch and now it's got a reliable healthy spark. The new plug, plug cap and kill switch should arrive today; so I'll get it started later. Once it's running I can then sort out any other problems that might arise.

Cool and cloudy start again here and it looks like it rained a small amount at some point but the sun is out again now.

Watched a short YouTube clip about Solovair boots/shoes while drinking the morning coffee and then Muesli, bran flakes and a banana for breakfast.

Only bit of the football I caught was just before the equaliser went in ,thought then that looking at how the players looked it would end as an Argentina win; still don't care much these days ,last time I got worked up about an England game was when Ronald Koeman did that shirt pull (on David Platt?) a few years ago.

Anyway today will be a pootle in to town for supplies and some thrifting, might get in the garden if it's not too hot.

Always count your blessings. Had a work colleague drop dead this weekend - stroke. Way off retirement age. Working is over rated.

I knew of a guy (not personally) that retired one day and popped his clogs the next day. Seems unfair somehow.
Mind you, a few hundred years ago you would be lucky to make 45.

I agree

Alsatians are very inclined to do what they think they should do

so you need to make sure they think what they should do is what you want them to do

When I had one she was never a problem to other people on walks
not because I trained her - but because she was weird and tended to go round in a big semi circle to stay away from them - even more so if they had a dog - especially small yappy ones!
(she hated Shitzus - I used to tell her "you look like a wolf for God's sake - you can;t be scared of something called a Shitzu!!")

if she was on the lead then I would just put her on the other side from then and she would "follow my lead" and worry about it!!

but all dogs can be trained unless they have some sort of mental problem or had a bad upbringing

My advice......make sure you put the plug and plug cap on the right way round. It will give you all sorts of problems if you get it wrong.
Oh, check they have sent you the correct kill switch. Suppliers are notorious for getting that part wrong.

I've just realised. 10 years this month sinde I retired! Officially I ended in October, but was signed off on the ick in July.

Got me thinking, so I had to check, it'll be 12 years come September since I retired, and it'll be another couple before I pick up my pension.

Always count your blessings. Had a work colleague drop dead this weekend - stroke. Way off retirement age. Working is over rated.

Have to agree, and the way it's going more and more wont see retirement age. It's OK for politicians to keep raising the age of retirement but most of them have never done one days hard graft in their lives.
