Still parked on the bank of the Loire, up reasonably early this morning and had a quick dip before cycling into town to get some shopping, learned my lesson from a few days ago, back at the van before 10am and before it got to hot but it has dropped a bit now around high 20's low 30's.

A couple of photo's from where I'm parked, don't really do it justice.
Good morning all.
A heavy sleep has been slept. I stayed up late (for me) as I watched the end of a film after the athletics in which we came 2nd overall......approx 250mm from coming 1st but we're pipped by Italy.
We has rain.....how welcome is that. I am told we are getting another hot one next week but I've not read it myself.
A Q day is in store for me. I will nip to the pharmacist for some Ibulieve** for my shin as its still sore, especially to the touch.
**I've used it many years ago and it did precisely nowt but I read they now have a double strength one so I will give it a shot.
Have a good day peeps.
Morning.
Cooler and a bit cloudy but dry. Forecasts saying how this week most of UK should get some rain which is desperately needed but I rather suspect after a few days rain I'll be cursing it...

There seems to be much better materials available for flat roofs now that have close to a lifetime guarantee.
Pretty much just after the ending of WW2 rationing and the opening of the first fast food outlet.
I am envious 😊
We used to travel through France a couple of times a year, before Mrs @BoldonLad's health put a stop it.
The active ingredient in Ibulieve is ibroprofen, you can get a 10% ibroprofen gel from pharmacies a few quid cheaper than the branded version which is identical.
Christ on a bike.
Save yourself some time and money - buy an old non runner of a sheet box from the local paper for a tenner and get someone to tow you to a remote lay by and abandon you there. You'll get the authentic Freelander II experience at a fraction of the cost.
Morning, we have cloud and 24cI think that's the Freelander 1 you are referring to.
The Freelander 2 is a totally different beast.
No, it's the II I'm referring to. The I, or Hippo, was quite tragic in K series form, but not so bad with L series or BMW diseasel power. Indeed, the L series will survive along with the cockroaches when the bomb drops.
The II is a different level of flakiness. You've got appalling engines From Peugeot made worse by Ford, terrible Ford EUCD multiplexed electrics, and fit and finish that would make Lada blush.
The only good one is the 6 cylinder with the strong Volvo engine. That motor is very tough, but its painful to tax and the rest of it is still horriffic.
And now you've got old age thrown into the mix as well.
Common issues are rear diff, Haldex coupling, unfathomable electrical issues, EGR, DPF (almost inevitable with age and Ford use a wet system with all the extra failure appoints that brings), PAS leaks and pump failures that damage the racks. You're a grown man, do as you will, but it'll be painful if it bites - the cheapest cars of that sort usually turn out to be the most expensive. The Haldex requires serving every 30k miles which never gets done because it's expesive, and I guarantee you wil;l never in a million years find one that has a full service history that includes the Haldex. I wouldn't go near one.
