Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Morning. 5 mile walk done. It’s dry but overcast with a cold wind but enjoyed my walk.

Porridge and banana finished so it’s cuppa time now.

TV isn’t great again this evening. I might watch Death in Paradise, but it’s not as good with some of the characters in it now.

There was what promises to be a good series on channel 5 last night. 1923 with Helen mirren and Harrison Ford. The first episode was last night.

Thanks, I might give that a try then

Well hello everyone! How are we all? Grey and mild here. Just had a phone call to say my chainsaw is ready to collect from the repair shop. It's electric but had developed a small, mystifying oil leak. Figure that one out. Very happy as a man and his chainsaw should not be parted.

Even more joy full planning permission has been granted for my new shed. Mrs P gave it the nod earier. Yeah!

After a walk, leaving shortly to investigate something**, I'll spend most of the day on the allotment. Key task is fence repairs.

** So what is Paul investigating? Well! There's a story. Woke in the middle of the night, drank tea, back to sleep. Around 7.30 thinks "those fire engines sound close" - it's not uncommon to hear sirens on the top road but this seemed closer. Went back to sleep again.

Checked village FB with coffee to discover the mill at the bottom of the village is ablaze. The fire engines were using the road 15 metres from our house!!!! Rumour is now rife. The car body repair workshop where the fire started has been empty for a year. A developer owns the site and has full development permission but there are many practical obstacles to be overcome. I'm saying nothing but I'm sure 2+2=4.

I will report back.

There have been many convenient fires over the years.
A famous listed pub in Barnet for one . The Two brewers, the old sisters that had run the place for many years retired, and the pub was shut for a year or more.
Developers wanted the site, and one night it mysteriously caught fire and was burnt to the ground.
It's now a block of flats.
Another one was a metal company in Tottenham holding out when Spurs had bought and demolished ParkLane for the new stadium.
That also mysteriously caught fire one night.

Right - been up since 8 (ish) so I suppose I better get on with 'stuff'
so far only fielded a call from SWMBO's son who wants us to kid sit SUnday night through to Monday as his partner has had her shifts changed - and as it is half term that means all 3 of them!
Then remembered I promised to check the stats on the solar panels and see how much they are saving us now they are working properly
I think I need to watch several videso from the manufacturers to work out how to tune the parameters but they do seem to be doing what they are supposed to do

Now I have to do more important stuff
a) get drugs from pharmacy now the docs has finally approved them
b) take bike to LBS due to strange creaking sound under power (well - power for me) that I can;t find

which will probably involved a "come back in an hour and we'll have it fixed' which means lunch on the high street

anyway - better get on

Breakfast now done, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast. :hungry:

Don't know why but, to me, fish and eggs don't go.
