Afternoon all .
Well sailing didn’t quite go to plan today . Started quite well and was gaining on the the earlier starting boats . Then suddenly one of the mainsheet blocks that should be attached to boom was in the boat with me , a shackle had come unscrewed . Game over and I had to be rescued and towed in .
At least I was first to the bar 😂 and mrs exlaser won the race ( without having to use her new boat ) so all was good in our house. 😀

Ps think spaghetti and meatball are on offer tonight .

Could be worse
Many years ago I was sailing with the Navy Cadets and a 'thing' came unscrewed (technical term for the thingy that hold the runner to the wire along the top of the gaff on a gaff rigger boat)
we lost control and ended up crashing into another boat


Unfortunately it was the Royal Yacht Brittania!!!!!

Ever time I saw her I always imagined I could see a dent just above the waterline on the starboard bow

There was scaffolding erected at the front of the bungalow opposite just over a week ago. Still no sign of any further activity. The suspense is starting to get to me. Mrs Tenkaykev is of the opinion that they're repainting, I'm not so sure...

Morning all.
MrsP has gone into work this morning, she works on a ad hoc zero hours basis, covering the other nurse when needed.
They called on Saturday to ask if she was available.
The bin and recycling lorries have been down our road, the first at 0630. As we sleep in the front, it's as good as an alarm clock .
The washing machine is doing it's stuff, it's going to be a sunny day, so the washing will be hung out.
I might get a ride out on the bike later as well.

Probably not, insufficient scaffolding for a big job. Mrs Tenkaykev is probably correct with her suggestion of repainting, but I always hope for something more esoteric.

At one time our bins were always emptied early. Never see them before lunch time now.
