Suppose you don't test positive, you'll still isolate?

To an extent, yes. On Tuesday I couldn't have been closer to my son for several hours with him frequently coughing and spluttering, he tested positive Thursday morning. This was continuous, side by side contact, 90 minutes of it in my car!! I think there is a very strong chance I have Covid so till Saturday morning I'm avoiding all close contact with others. For example tonight I'm supposed to be at a quiz with four friends, one with a suppressed immune system, this means leaning in to chat across a pub table with our faces perhaps two feet apart. I think it would be entirely irresponsible to continue as normal when I suspect I have Covid. I may be wrong but that's how it is.

If I test negative Saturday morning I'll go back to a normal life. See the post below for the things I have planned which I think show why I'm very cautious.

There's no requirement to test but I view it as a social responsibility. I sat with my son next to me for six hours on Tuesday, he had a very bad cough, we had a 30 minute cuddle watching TV. We spent 90 minutes in the car together. He's positive so there's a high possibility I will be.

Tonight I was due to meet a friend and work side by side on his laptop, Friday in a quiz team, Saturday manning the bar, Saturday or Sunday Club Ride and sat in a cafe, Sunday evening theatre trip, Monday night football, Tuesday is granddaughter day. All of this with family and friends, four of whom are clinically vulnerable with suppressed immune systems.

For me, and this is very much a personal view, I think it would be highly irresponsible not to test and also to make a decision about each individual activity.

Tests are £2.50 each. I suspect I'm very much in the minority.

I have risen!

Got up to point percy in the night and it was really foggy, but is now grey, wet and quite mild.

Is that Percy that was foggy but is now grey, wet and quite mild ?
If so I think you need medical help.🙂

Hello, back again. Cool, grey and damp outside, perfect weather for a bike ride to Lytham St Anne's where we know a cafe with a nice outdoor terrace and good cake. Tested negative again and my buddy is fully aware of the situation. Yes, I'm probably over cautious. What else for the day? Not much really, in fact bugger all of any great interest. It's my turn to cook and I'm totally lacking inspiration for tonight so I'll try freezer roulette
