Bugger:

Full blood count results back same day (amazing service) but my cholesterol is too high. Everything else spot-on.

Not happy. Need to visit GP next week blah, blah, blad and she is already advising Statins.

Big surprise this one.

Any of you other Oldies affected?

I have high cholesterol. Apparently +/-15% of the population have a genetic disposition which can result in high cholesterol and diet doesn't influence this. Since my heart attack, high cholesterol and ex smoker, in 2013 I've been on Atorvastatin. As a precaution I take aspirin as a blood thinner and something else for blood pressure.

I've never had high BP but the doctors want to use it as a precaution.

Wet! No wind. I woke about 3.45 and don't hold much hope of getting back to sleep. The birds are singing, noisy little buggers, so the window is now shut.

Mrs P borrowed an electrically powered scarifier yesterday. It is scarily good at its job. I will be reseeding the lawn in the next few days!!! We knew the moss was bad but there's hardly anything green left now.

I'm not sure what else the day will bring but no doubt something will turn up. A doze my help me decide.

If you want to make a balanced decision on Statins I would have a look at Dr John Campbell on You tube and hear what he says about statins.**

Switched the news off right quick. Some kind of election thing yesterday it would seem and I really couldn't give the tiniest sheet either way. Now on Planet Rock and chilling already.

Funny day today. Waiting for a car battery to be delivered so can't really do much, not even practice bass with headphones, in case I miss it. I guess feet up and reading until I get a knick on the door is the order of the day.

Bonjour tout le monde. My car is having its first service at 1 pm and it is free. Mind you, I don't see why it will take 2 hours for it as they don't even change the oil , just checking everything is OK. No rain today.

A smashing day out in Weymouth yesterday. A bit blowy at times but we managed to find refuge in a few pubs🍺

I didn't report back on my (Aldi) "dirty chips" ready meal which is basically chips covered in cheese and pepperoni.
My report is.....don't bother. It filled a hole and that was about it.

Morning all

Yay.....it's Fish Friday again!
Fish & Chips from the harbour chippy and a couple of pints in Pebbles Cider Tavern beckons.
I survived the shopping trip to Bridgwater yesterday. We only did B&M, ALDI and filled the car up with diesel - came back £250 lighter.
MrsD bravely volunteered to drive back. I say 'bravely' because she's only driven about half a dozen times over the past 5 years.
She did OK on a road (A39), which is a bit tortuous in places, and back along the lanes to our place.
She needs to get her confidence up as we intend to buy her a car shortly, so she can go out with her girly friends.

Went shopping in Ambleside yesterday and stopped at the Ambleside Inn.

1 pint of lager shandy and a large chardonnay was £13.65. Crazy prices in pubs these days.

Off for a walk shortly.
