Bugger:

Full blood count results back same day (amazing service) but my cholesterol is too high. Everything else spot-on.

Not happy. Need to visit GP next week blah, blah, blad and she is already advising Statins.

Big surprise this one.

Any of you other Oldies affected?
Been on Statins since my heart attack in 2016, also on low dose Aspirin and Bisoprolol.

In a word, yes ;)

I doubt there are many people (men in particular) who are over 50 and not on Statins.

Personally, have been on Statins and BP medication for approximately past 20 years (now 75, 76 in October).

Initially, I staved off the medication, by improving my diet and exercise (that was how I got back into cycling), but, I did eventually have to succumb to medication, although, presumably, if I had not taken the action I did, I would have been on higher dosage.

Blood MCV count is giving cause for concern. Every test done is worse than the previous.

I'm still trying to work out exactly what it means. But until the specialist is seen, they're saying/telling me very little.
