Morning all :hello:

Smashing day had yesterday. Weather held out, mates came around, fantastic Sunday lunch at the White Horse followed by tea in our garden and an evening of Pink Floyd, wine and chat.
It's wet and windy out there now. We seem to get one day on/one day off with the weather at the moment. It's weird.

Like Watcher. Have they fixed the harbour yet?
They're working on it but the owners company is in trouble, apparently.
Phew. For a second I thought you were going to say there us a £1000 for Interfering with a slow worm ^_^
It's more than that. Maximum penalty under the Wildlife & Countryside Act is £5000 / 6 months in chokey.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Slow worms are very slowly coming back here. The next door neighbour had 5 cats and they were responsible for all the slow worms disappearing.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
A sunny start to the day here, but it's too bright, too early. Rain forecast for the next week and a bit.
We are off to our friends in Hitchin later this morning, MrsP has cooked a strawberry and blueberry flan to take . Just need a pot of cream, so we will call into Morrisons on the way, giving me the opportunity of also buying a selection of ales to take with us.

Wet Wet Wet. It will largely be an indoors day for me. We had a great day at the village picnic. Very lucky to live in a little community where these things just work. A few people work hard on the organisation and then folk just wander up, a bit haphazard perhaps but that's half the fun. At 3.00pm I counted 150 people from tots to adults and we think in all 180-200 turned up through the day. The bar got hammered, barrel of Carlsberg and three barrels of a local IPA. We had to rush out to Aldi for more Prosecco and Pimm's and the Pimm's still sold out. The weather gods smiled on us, kids were kept occupied and everyone had a great time. I was nackered well before the end and in bed asleep by 8.45..............and, no, nothing excessive just one G&T at 6.00pm.

My French beans and mangetout have started to germinate so need to be popped into some compost and pots. Should have done this yesterday but just too busy. I hope it's not the last time I say this in May but my boys have another very big game this afternoon, away at Millwall. I will be sat nervously on the sofa with a brew.

Off to the club now to help tidy up

Watched the Coronation Concert last night with Mrs p We both enjoyed it.

It was an amazing production.

Don’t suppose I will see another coronation I was twelve when Queen Elizebeth was crowned.

I've managed to totally avoid it. I haven't even been watching the news the last few nights.

Soggy, wet walk done. Actually quite enjoyed it and met a couple of people I know with their dogs for a chat too. A few midgies out already. They like to eat me!

You started early with your Christmas lights this year.

They are up all year round and on every night when dark - it's a big lounge and in the evening when we use the bit of the lounge further into the house the lights 'cheer up' the big black uncurtained expanse. They look really lovely.

Good that you enjoyed it but not our cup of tea; both on the monarchy front and the artists performing.

A second IFA turning up tomorrow to discuss the financials, and in particular the creation of a financial plan, of us joining your happy band (first one not listening and just wanting to sell generic services...) so let's see if we can make it happen

Hope it all works out for you. I started planning joining this thread legitimately last year but had some prostate issues. My financial adviser suggested keeping in employment for the sickness / death in service benefits of being an employee.

Still waiting for the (broken) NHS to decide what's actually wrong and do something about it....

Sorry to hear that

Good advice, mind.
