Twenty years ago I was in the back office, handling the accounts, where a similar debate/argument was had. Majority wisdom said that cash would be gone in ten years. Banking would be done on phones, with even ATM's going from the high street.

The banks may be going, but the machines are still there. With a 25% increase in total numbers year on year.

I still use cash, just as likely to be got from the counter in the bank as from a machine. For two years I used card payments as much as possible, for obvious reasons. Now that need has gone. And, if a shop doesn't like my cash, I'll take it and my trade elsewhere.

I have no cash at all and haven't used any for many years now.

A group of +/-20 Chorley CC riders are on a club organised charity event today - Palace to the Pub. That's 240 miles from Buckingham Palace to the Chorley pub we use as our meet point. The plan is to complete the ride by closing time........today. Ride set off from London at 5.00am.

I'm tracking their progress on Wahoo live track. This is a very impressive feature. Not sure what's happened but the group appears to have stopped after 35 minutes. Now showing 14.7 miles covered in first 75 minutes, average of 15.6mph. They hope to average 17.5 and be home for around 10.00pm. Somehow they have to up the pace........

Mrs Uphill uses Wahoo Live Track sometimes and in my experience it can be a bit temperamental. Can say she's stopped when she hasn't 😕
Though must say 17.5 mph average for such a long ride is impressive!
