Got to sleep around 5.30am after much fun last night - just got up and feeling sleepy still.

Mrs SD left in bed snoring lightly - sleepy head says she is not getting up for a few hours yet. Too much dancing etc!

Lovely day out there - hazy sky and very warm already.

We will have a lazy day today, after two very late 'party' nights, and tonight it will be a Kindle & Cuddle night, which are always nice - as a much younger man I couldn't have imagined that as a pleasurable bed option!

Had a bike ride planned but that can be done tomorrow. Ditto grass mowing.

Brekkie now, and in lovely countryside silence I shall doss and finish my current book, and then agonise over which one to read next.

Have a good day all.

On books.....a good pal has a couple of US cop thrillers he penned and a very good "Jack the Ripper" style London thriller, Cutsmith. Well priced, all to charity, and available for kindle from here!
On our recent train travels, as well as his latest, I enjoyed The Satsuma Complex. Not too heavy. A friend had recommended a JFK "fact finding" booked, Not In Your Lifetime.....but I have to confess it is hard going!

Back to cleaning the inside of the motor.....did the outside yesterday evening when it was in shade.

PS - there's 4 of them.

Yesterday I went to buy some new shorts for the holiday

due to several reasons I got the wrong size stuck in my head so today I needed to return them and swap for a smaller size!!

anyway - in ASDA (for locals The ASDA) I did something very UnBritish

anyway - I went in and talked to the lady at Customer Service - left the receipt and shorts with her and went to get the exchange ones

came back and by then she was clearly busy sorting out something with cash in the till and some problem the person on the "Kiosk" (think it sells cigarettes and stuff) was having
So I patiently waited - nice queue of one as is the British way
she noticed me but was busy for a few seconds
SOme other bloke comes up and goes in front of me and stands there

now - this is very unlike me and clearly unBritish but I got annoyed
so politely said - "you all right mate???????"
which left him with a problem
he held up some shorts and said he was just swapping them

I pointed to my shorts sitting next to him on the counter and said "so am I mate - those are mine!"

he got a bit flustered and said he didn;t mean to cut in front

Clearly he did
clearly he had seen me
clearly it ws deliberate as he though he had priority

but he still didn;t move back and stayed leaning on the counter

so I moved forward as well

in a few seconds the lady finished and asked "who's next" - while looking directly at me so I handed her the new shorts

I had also picked up 2 packets of sweets for the journey so I asked if she could put them through as well
which brought a snort of disgust from the bloke who had tried to cut in front

I can;t be sure - but I reckoned she took her time - which was fine by me

very unlike me

but very satisfying

Morning all having a few days visiting in near Breacon Beacons. Had lovEly walks up on Beacons with family and dog, a few lovely meals out, know chilling out in garden, having Sunday lunch made for me, which is a great treat, as normally have to do it. Hope you all can have a nice and relaxing day.

Good afternoon. A warm and beautiful day here. I'm lacking in motivation, heat related, and apart from some minor tidying and preparing tea I've done bugger all.........and I think that's the way it will stay.

Organised a trip to Oban for early August to stay with my oldest friend. Very much looking forward to that.

@ebikeerwidnes thanks for the info re Spike Island. I know where you mean.

I had a little 3 mile wander round the outskirts of the town before it gets any hotter. That’ll do me for the day. Blinds shut and fan on now and not feeling too bad so far.

I see our illustrious ex-leader has now been arrested. No charges brought on any of them so far, but doesn’t fill me with confidence on the character of MPs, not that I hold many in high regard anyway!
