I could never have another dog. Worst thing that ever happened was when my dog and then my cat passed away within a year of each other. I can't and won't go through that ever again.

We have always had a rescue dog. After a short mourning period we rescue another. Good for us and good for the dog which we adopt. Our last two dogs have been rescue Greyhounds. Unfortunately Greyhound racing is still big in Victoria, Australia and there is a constant stream of dogs for adoption. I read that Greys are the third most common breed in Melbourne atm.

I'm rather fond of Greyhounds and Whippets but having a cat as well, I've always been too scared to risk it just in case the chase instinct ever took over. I do know people who have both and say they are fine with their own cat but the way vet's fees are going at the moment, plus the commitment I'm not sure I will ever have another dog anyway.

My sister is the same, never had a dog after the first we had as kids. I've had several.

It's hard when they go, but I balance that against the happy life I try to give them.

Bruce, the dog in my avatar, is a rescue we've had 8 years, I like to think we've done the right thing with him.
No idea of his birthday, so he has an official one, like monarchs on 1st July every year

Well. That didn't take long.

After a long drawn out download and install onto my PC, the Rolla app just crashes.
Apparently, also lots of bugs in the beta version, and you need to use both PC and phone app, so we won't be bothering with it
Off to use up my free monthly zwift ride instead.

Which just worked.

That's what all these other apps should aim for. Not more. Functionality and USPs, but just work.
I love Fulgaz for example. But it's flakier than a Cadbury flake, and Rouvy just won't work properly on my PC with very dodgy graphics

Got up 10am to yet more rain and fog - lovely; not. Fed up as I have not had a walk for 5 days. Hope to get out on bike tomorrow though.

Not much going on today apart from gym, some financial stuff to sort out and reading.

Had a result with Benson Beds yesterday; 2.5 years ago we bought a new mattress. It wasn't cheap but 2.5 years later it was sagging badly so we claimed against its 8 year warranty.

Absolutely no hassle service. We received a full credit for the original cost, another £60 inconvenience cost, 10% off the full cost of a new (different) mattress (this is a current offer but didn't think it would apply under the circumstanced) plus no delivery or recycling charges.

Result! Hope the new mattress lasts longer!

Have a good day everyone.
