Yesterday I managed to tie my shoelaces for the first time since breaking my arm. I've been inveigling my feet into the only pair of slip on shoes that I possess, it's good to get back into a favourite pair. Daughter and her chap are visiting for a few days, they're on their way down from Edinburgh, with a break in travel to run the Serpent Trail 100k on the South Downs today. That will give me the ideal opportunity to say " we were expecting you sooner, couldn't you have run a bit faster? " 😉

Presumably that lot is tic?

Just in case it isn't...

Boxers, knickers, bras, socks - all conform to shape, plus who is really looking? If Mrs SD is wandering around in undies then lack of ironing is probably not on my mind.

Handkerchiefs - seriously, last had one when I was about 10. Foul things. If I had one I wouldn't iron it.

Cotton shirts - I possess none. I have two cotton T's that I bought in error yonks ago and they are gardening only clobber and certainly don't get ironed.

Bedding, come on, ours comes out of the tumbly (sic) dryer looking good to go. Plus it gets in a hell of a state in use...

In short, ironing is a waste of time and belongs to the era of hand washing and mangles.

Ironing is not a waste of time, most clothes need ironing,

Barnet,
Good morning all. A bit of a cloudy start here.
Were of to see our friends in Hitchin, he has recently started treatment for a re- occurrence of cancer. 25 years he was clear. He is also on a drug trial at Mount Vernon Hospital alongside the treatment regime at his local hospital.
So far he is responding well to the drugs with no real bad side effects.
On a lighter note, he loves the Tour as well, so the afternoon will be spent watching it.

My shirts get ironed as I can't stand creased shirts, that goes for my polo and T shirts as well.

If you tried to iron my leggings and technical t shirts they would probably melt. They definitely don't need ironing anyway. I never wear jeans or dress trousers these days or the type of shirts that need ironing. I was never so glad to resign the iron to the back of the cupboard as soon as I finished work and no longer had to iron work shirts.

Weekend sleep in is on the cards , cup of tea and back to bed for an extra snooze.....zzz

Ah yes. I am with you on the snoozing front.

Supposed to be out my bike but it is drizzling plus we didn't go to bed till 3.20am so tea and snoozing is the current status quo here.

Oh yes it is and oh no they don't! :smooch:

I guess we live in very different worlds.

Morning. Just back from my walk. Nearly 8 miles while it's quiet.

I might watch Le Tour later rather than go back out as I always find the weekends a bit too busy for my liking.

Time for some porridge now I think.

No porridge in the tenkaykev household. For the duration of the TDF we shall be breakfasting on Croissants, Pain au Chocolat, Pain au Raisin, Pain au Almond etc ( not all at once I hasten to add, but I can see a challenge coming on... )
