.......and a wash board. I can just remember my granny doing a washing in a metal boiler using a washboard, then she took the washing out to a shed where she had a mangle. Have to admit washing machines are one part of modern life that I do like!

I remember my Mum using a boiler for the whites, washing the coloureds in the sink by hand and putting it all through the mangle before putting it on the line, on the cloths horse if the weather was bad.

It’s got really blowy here with the odd sharp shower. I don’t normally put the telly on during the day but I’ve stuck the cycling on.

I will be with you shortly but back to R2 for Pick of The Pops at 1300....its all 1969 which holds all sorts of special memories for me.
