So....why bother in the 1st case??
As I said, it is honestly beyond me.

Because it will get creased either hanging up or folded up in the wardrobe.
I prefer not to look like I'm wearing a sack when I go out.

.......and a wash board. I can just remember my granny doing a washing in a metal boiler using a washboard, then she took the washing out to a shed where she had a mangle. Have to admit washing machines are one part of modern life that I do like!

I remember my Mum using a boiler for the whites, washing the coloureds in the sink by hand and putting it all through the mangle before putting it on the line, on the cloths horse if the weather was bad.

I've just done the ironing all nicely pressed and put away

I've just done ours, just got to put it away, lunch first, Cassilax in Roland avenue, I've just got to put my Good lady in her wheelchair and we'll be off.

It’s got really blowy here with the odd sharp shower. I don’t normally put the telly on during the day but I’ve stuck the cycling on.

I honestly can't think of any item I own that needs ironing**. I certainly don't look like a sack.
