Good morning! Sunshine and showers. Here I am in Manchester Picadilly with a latte and almond croissant, both excellent. This is the start of my birthday treat. Nope, not my birthday yet.

Mrs P has been convinced our train would be cancelled. I have heard this for 48 hours. All good so far and we are sat on it.

We didn't win with Ernie. Six months since our last win so I'm cashing in all bar one to keep the account open. For the first time in years the bank looks a better option.

If you don't need instant access we have just opened a FRB (5 years) with Close Brothers at 5.6% pa.

:rain::rain::rain: here, and I'm in Oaks Farm Shop, in the cafe with a sausage batch and a coffee, no chance off getting home quickly to get the washing in.

Thank you.

PBs have been our instant access home whenever interest rates have been very low. In the days when one had to constantly move money, run numerous accounts to make a few ££££ it was a better option. Most years we made 1.5 - 2%. Only worked on instant access.

This is basically our emergency cash, the rest is invested. I'll be looking around for a decent instant access or 30 day account.

1. Do you have a shave each time ?
2. How often do you go?

1. Yes - well beard trim
2. When I start to look scruffy which is about 7-8 weeks. The rest of the time I look after myself with trimmers and tweezers! After a while it begins to show.

Sounds daft but I really dislike having bushy eyebrows, hairy ears and nose hair. It's about my personal self-esteem, very important to me. Without restarting the discussion it's why I iron.

You iron your hairy ears and nose!!!

Joking aside I agree with you (apart from ironing).

Currently up at Helsington Church overlooking Lyth valley for our Carnic.

Yummy hot stuff followed by chocolate (85%).

Nice views, bit windy.

I had a phone call from my doctor's surgery earlier offering me the shingle vaccin. I have had shingles in 1988 but apparently it doesn't make you immune to it. Anyway, I declined for now but will be offered it again next year I was told.

Our GP does it at 70 so 3 years time for me.

Found this out at my recent pneumonia jab (another one-off) and the nurse said shingles is really nasty for older folk.
