After ordering a new bag from Brompton I was notified of delivery by DPD between 3:30 and 4:30pm yesterday. I've been busy around the house but kept my eyes open. About 4:00pm I spotted a grey transit pull up outside the house, driver got out and climbed in the back. I wandered out into the garden in anticipation and listened to a lot of banging and crashing from inside the van. A few minutes later the driver climbed out the back empty handed, climbed into the cab and sped off. An hour later I received a message saying that the driver had been unable to gain access to the property.
It's out for delivery again 🤞

On the subject of Parcel Deliveries, I have a few of the individual apps on my phone, some of which are excellent, allowing you to track your parcel in real time and telling you " You're driver is on delivery xx of xx / Your are Next " . All the notifications for my delivery are coming from an organisation called " Aftership " which seems to be an amalgamation of several delivery companies. Of course that adds another stage of removal from contact with the people who actually have your parcel.

Tesco's Extra in Bedworth this morning, when I put my scan and shop through the self service I managed to leave something behind, I'm loading the car when I hear a voice, its the Tesco's lady from the self service bringing me the fruit I'd forgotten.

I used to hate the self service tills, but have to admit I am using them a lot more now. Feel a bit guilty in case it's putting till workers out of jobs though, but they are just so handy when you just pop in for a few things at a time like I do.

I think the checkout jobs will go eventually anyway, us not using self service will just delay it a bit.

Salut. I had a shock this morning when I read my renewal for my car insurance. It went from 200 pounds a year to 606 pounds a year !! :cursing: If they think I am going to renew with them, they think I am a fool. Anyway, went on Meerkats and found one for under 300 a year. That will do me. Why does your present insurer hike so much on renewal ? They must know they will lose your custom by doing so and they certainly have with me.

I've never been able to understand that either, there is no loyalty today
