It made me feel angrily What did the PO think the thousands of sub post office had banded together to defraud the PO

True. It is the sheer numbers which amazed me. No doubt, there will be a level of fraud, but, didn't they notice when the numbers suddenly increased, didn't anyone ask them selves why have dozens if not hundreds of our sub-postmasters suddenly become fraudsters, and, didn't they ask themselves, if they are stealing all this money, where has it gone (eg evidence of flash lifestyles etc). Complacency on a massive scale by Post Office. A few OBEs and seats in the House of Lords need to be cancelled, at the very least.

There was a really good series on Radio4 which looked into and followed the debacle.
The PO senior management simply did not believe that the Horizon system, which they had sunk so much money into could be faulty. Fujitsu also denied there were any problems, if they had, there share price would of plummeted.
The Guardian, 7 days ago reported the the Police now have enough evidence against the company and individuals to start criminal proceedings.

Lawnmower serviced - oil changed, filters cleaned, all linkages lubed and blade sharpened. All good to go for 2024. :okay:
I've planted out my early peas, erected the netting and made a couple of cloches for one of my raised beds. I also fixed MrsD's bird feeder.
That'll do me for today.

Treat swmbo to an afternoon at the Bowes museum in Barnard castle, strange pricing policy, pay £18pp for a day ticket or pay £15.50pp and get free entry for 13 months 🙄 choices choices ,🤣🤣 Actually quite an interesting place with many exhibits ranging from pottery to time pieces and an interesting history, look forward to future visits when the grounds will be more appealing and hopefully the silver swan will be full restored and working. ATM there is also a textile exhibition featuring Vivien Westwood and female clothing through the last three hundred years of so, god knows how they fitted either their waists or necks into the outfits 😯. Also many Paintings, I have, as a pervert (according to the wife), come to the conclusion, that an artists mantra is, ' if in doubt, paint a bird with her t@#'s out'. Home now for sausage, bacon and eggs.🤗

Hi folks :okay: Enjoyed a good ride today, over the hills to Golspie which is 24m and then had the choice of a 6m ride home via the lovely A9 or go back the way i came....hmm 6m of purgatory being blown into the gutter by lorries and motorhomes or another 24m slog. I chose the slog :okay: didnt enjoy the last 10m much as it was into a head wind...the cold wind was blowing through my new lid and it felt like my brain was being freeze dried  overall it was a good one though :okay:

Just back from Physio in Wimborne. Absolutely chucking it down and relentlessly so. The bus I took in crosses the river by one bridge and the fields were flooded. On the return journey the bust took a different route over a different bridge. I'd never seen anything like it. Even the field boundaries were gone, it looked like one big lake stretching for hundreds of metres.
Back home now, in jim jams, woolly socks and comfy slippers, tucking into ginger biccies to warm me up internally.

Anyone watching Mr Bates Versus The Post Office .

It’s certainly makes me wonder about the justice system Apparently I don’t know if it’s still the case that the PO can arrest their employees who they suspect of an offence

Yes…..watching the last episode right now.
I appreciate it is dramatised, but it is clearly close to the truth.

It utterly beggars belief that Paula Vennells got a CBE for Services to the Post Office, instead of jail time.
It beggars believe that nobody at Fujitsu was sent to prison.
It beggars belief that Angela van den Bogerd also escaped doing time.
The entire debacle is a total shambles of British Justice.
It is an outrage.
