You're certain it's yourself that's there!

Forecast to drop to around minus 14°C this week.

Only forecast to go down to -1⁰C down here during the week. It could feel a bit colder in the wind though.

Off to take teh Grand-Daughter to a climbing wall this afternoon

she really enjoyed it last week

But her Mum "doesn;t want her joining any club or anything"
probably for 2 reasons
a) it isn;t a girl thing to be doing
b) she wants her to help (i.e. take over) looking after the 2 younger boys when she gets tired or stressed - they are a handful - one SEN and one 3 and very active
But it isn;t her job!!!!
not at all

anyway - last time I have never seen her enjoy herself so much - even having sore hands didn;t slow her down and she is normally a total wimp at the first sign of discomfort!

so we are taking her again - my wife is determined to enroll her in the club anyway - it means free access to the wall after so we can say it is to save money

But I suspect she will get a lot of negative vibes at home

I think I see trouble on the horizon

Your wife is correct ! Do enrol her. I have a nerdy son who never had any interest in any sports EVER . He reluctantly visited a climbing wall as it was on holiday as a feature and loved it. He climbed for years after that in the club he joined at home and it gave him immense satisfaction and made him problem solve , have stamina etc . Before he discovered climbing walls he played chess online for hours daily and would never run with me or cycle with me !!!

WoW......my phone app says different. We shall see.
I think we're in for a few damp days this week, so can't see it getting that cold.

It'd be nearly as cold as when I cycled to work(I realise this is one of those four letter words folk don't like using, but...) twenty years ago.

The temperature is dropping here, it's been a nice sunny day, but the wind is coming from the north and is quite cold.
More rain forecast for tomorrow and then a few sunny days.
Our son messaged us earlier and is going to call in tomorrow morning.
Leftover lasagna and salad for dinner today.

They then refused to look at the clear evidence that it was not fit for purpose,
As I may have mentioned, sounds like the firm I worked for for 28 years. After umpteen years of buying IT systems that 'would do' and making us to adapt to it, they finally bit the bullet and had a stock control system designed inhouse after actually talking to the staff and supervisors - !
And I had to put up with the previous systems for 26 years - !

Not a girl thing?, it is 2024! 😊

Well done to your wife for enrolling her

Salut! It is freezing here. The car was covered with frost with morning and I was planning on going for a ride this afternoon but changed my mind when I saw the very thin white stuff covering the tarmac. So I talked to three of my brothers earlier on as they were having a meal together. Easy afternoon and evening now in front of the fire.
