Cold and sunny again here.
Off to the harbour this morning for the first Street Fayre of the year, then walking up to the Railway Inn for Sunday lunch.

Good morning all. A lovely sunny frost start to the day here.
MrsP want to go to a park that we used to visit many years ago, Broomfield Park in Palmers Green. We lived in Arnos Grove when we first got married and used to walk to it in 20 minutes. Since we moved back to Barnet 39 years ago I don't think we have ever been back.
I'm sure coffee and croissants will feature in a cafeteria nearby.

Sorry, but that definition of who he liked & how he felt very much does make him a racist in my book. I’m sure we want to avoid getting into politics, but that is a pretty xenophobic perspective. I can understand why he would have been difficult to talk to!

Having lived in one of the UKs most diverse multicultural cities for several decades, I feel I have to say that 🤷‍♂

Been involved in a volleyball club which has been going since before I joined in 1985, & we have enjoyed a hugely diverse squad over the years. It’s been a lot of fun for all involved….I used to maintain a welcome sheet that had flags from most of the nationalities who had played with us over the years!

Just to be clear - he was not a racist because he treated everyone the same and was not bothered about skin colour or any othe definition that standard racists use
and he didn;t think that people from different places were better or worse people in any way
just that people should stay where they were born

however, considering people to be different just because of where they were born is pretty much the same
which is why I generally could not talk to him

Good morning. No frost but dull, grey, chilly. All week I have been promised 8/9⁰ and sun. Bugger the Met Office. I even looked out my spring Base layer and jacket!

I shall not be deterred. Breakfast eaten. Stretching done. Chores done. Snacks and drinks prepped. I'm heading out with a new group, The Bus Stop Bikers. So named because they originally used to meet at.......go on.......guess......a bus stop. Boom! Boom!

I'm not sure what to expect. I rode once with them in 2024 and then promptly threw myself under a tractor. I'm going to wrap up well as if it's a slow one I'll get cold 🥶 The route is only 38 miles so I have to add another 12 for the monthly challenge.

Allotment this afternoon.

Oh - his opinions stayed the same

he could wax lyrical about why the car rusted based on the quality of the steel they bought and how it was stored

apparently when he started the steel was bought in massive sheets and stored piled up
then the top few sheets were taken off and recycled
and the only steel that was used to make cars was from the middle sheets
and even then the edges of every sheet was cut off before use and recycled

all to avoid and steel where rust had started to take hold

Then managlement realised that they were paying for steel and not using it so they adjusted the rules ot get more steel out of each batch

and then adjusted it a bit more

and every time they made it more efficente they made the cars rust earlier

someone probably calculated that the earlier the cars rusted the more people got rid of them and bought another

and forgot that the one they bought eventually became one from Japan or France
(not Italy - because they made the Lanca Beta so clearly considered BL as an shining example of good steel!!!)
