Correct name for the first is The Black Bulgar!
Panic over! Mrs D has identified it.:okay:
It's Helvella lacunosa - otherwise known as Elfin Saddle fungus.
Apparently not rare, but I've never seen it before.

It was in Dartmoor, not Brighton. :laugh:
You'll have read how it got it's name?
Usually seen/found near "Fairy Forts" in Ireland.
