Well good day good people of Cyclechat. Grey. Again! Told you it would be like this till next Monday.

Today I'm going to blitz the housework starting after this post. This afternoon I have a meeting with my cycle club sponsor. Ownership has changed and we need to look at how we progress in the future.

I'm waiting for a phone call from my FA. This isn't her fault but I've a problem which she might resolve. Every year I make a small drawdown £2000 max, this year £1000, from my pension. Every year something goes wrong with the tax as the pension company make the deduction and I have to reclaim from HMRC. Last year the error was a tax overpayment which I ignored as I couldn't stand the grief with HMRC.

Yesterday HMRC hit me with a £100 late filing penalty. I hit the roof. I'm not a tax payer and the HMRC self-assesment tool says I don't need to make a submission. I was 90 minutes on hold with HMRC yesterday before I was automatically cut off. This has to be connected with the pension company telling HMRC something and not informing me.

Did my own tax return for 40 years without a problem. Retired, non taxpayer, every year it goes wrong.
