Good morning folks, paths almost finished, fugly thing but it makes getting my Good Lady in the house in her wheelchair a lot easier, we have casualties though, my Grape Hyacinths.

Glad the path went in ok , don’t worry about the Grape Hyacinths. The one thing I do know about them is ‘ they will be back ‘ 😂.
I’ve been trying to get rid of the ones in my front garden for over a decade and I still get some every spring. I think the only way I will ever get rid of them is napalm the whole garden . 😂

Good morning folks, off to Nottingham in a while. A pleasant couple of days in Southwell catching up with Mrs Tenkaykev's brother. Parkrun in the morning and then train to London to catch up with kids/ grandkids 👍

When a mate of mine caught someone breaking into his car he chased him off and shouted "why don't you get a proper job".
The guy shouted back "this is my job".
No real answer to that.

Scanning through the auction catalogue online, I spotted a rather fine looking painting by Dexter Brown.

I'd never heard of him, but apparently he's well known for his impressionistic paintings of racing cars - @Reynard will probably have encountered his work. This (if genuine!) is definitely an outlier in his oeuvre. We'll go and have a look at it in the flesh shortly, and maybe put in a bid in the low hundreds , expecting it to go for more!

On a more mundane level, they also have a battered old Seiko watch, which I might try for, intending to transfer the strap to one of mine.

I get a lot of the one ring phone calls, one ring then goes off, if you ring back you're on a premium line, I used to block the number but they'd just call again on a different number, now I just ignore them.

TBH, it's not a name I'm familiar with. I'm much more au-fait with the likes of Andrew Kitson, Arthur Benjamins, Michael Turner and Simon Owen. Although I'm not a big fan of Kitson - his work strikes me as sterile.

I've run the name past a motorsport historian friend - if someone will know, then likely he will.

Today is the day to try to sort out our passports

Mine should be OK - still valid but runs out in May so needs renewing

My wife's on the other hand, expired at the start of the pandemic so we didn;t bother renewing
WHich means she has no photo id - or for that matter official id of any kind - because her name has changed since she last got one (we got married - I know we are kinda old - but these dating website turn out to be damn dangerous!!!!)

Anyway - her actual old passport has gone missing. I was 'told off' a few days ago for keeping mine in 'the wrong place' so I have refrained from commenting about why hers is missing when mine was found in 0.2 seconds of starting to look!

Also - our marriage certificate was missing but I hadn;t mentioned this. On starting to look for her passport I opened a file of old un-need paper work and found the certificate on the top.
So I will also not mention that it was ever missing

we have the necessary photos so we need to go through online and see if we can get new ones

I expect problems!

One ring is just to test the line. Answering proves it's an active line and number.
