Morning. It’s very :rain:here and quite mild to start, but to get colder as the day goes on and maybe turn to sleet/snow later. The long range forecast for us really doesn’t look great for us right up until the end of the month.

I also loved Endeavour and, although sad to see it finish, thought they ended it well. I watched the documentary after it with the actors discussing it and enjoyed it too. Funny to hear Miss Thursday speaking in a Scottish accent. I find it amazing the way they can hold different accents for shows. Shaun Evans sounded totally different too.

All this discussion of Morse reminded me of the brief flurry of discussion to uncover Morse's middle name several years ago.
It was eventually revealed to be " Endeavour ", which had rather surprisingly been alluded to in the 19th century song " Green Grow the Rushes Oh "
" One is one and all alone, Endeavour Morse shall be so "

Apparently we had torrential rain and wind overnight but......I am one of those people that, once my head hits the pillow that's it.
Still raining here though.
Two progs I enjoyed last night.......
1. The new David Attenborough one filmed around the UK.
2. The Gold. Last one next week.

Also from my Facebook memories, this picture of my Bike amongst the Daffs on a ride report from 2017 where I'd ridden 58 miles over to Earlswood and back.

I know I appear here after a lot - but it is getting annoying that I have recently started waking up at around 7 rather than the previous 8 or 9

As I tend to go to bed around midnight thsi just means I get less sleep and often start nodding off early afternoon

Anyway - in other news it appear that 'we' have volunteered to have the grandkids (all 3 of them) on Wednesday
apparently it is only fair as it is my Union that is on strike!!! (retired teacher - and as I worked in 'difficult' school I effectibvely have to stay on in the union as a retired meber 'just in case')

Anyway - SWMBO's son has had an idea - it might work out better (!) if, instead of him taking an hour or so off on Wednesday morning to get the kids to us - then going into work - thne wouldn;t it be better if we picked the kids up (plus their cousin) from school(s) on Tuesday - then when we have got all 4 and their Mum is home then we can our 3 and bring them here for dinner and they can stay overnight!!

Soooooo much easier

apparently!

We really need to get the box room cleared so the baby can sleep in there rather than next to our bed!!!!

Anyway - today may be the last day of piece until Thursday!

(love them really - so I'm told!!!!)

It's OK guys, you can all relax now..........................the watch and phone have synced. Garmin Connect has kindly uploaded my data to Strava as well. My life is now complete.

@classic33 do you know a cafe called The Boardroom in Todmorden. I'm looking for a decent soup and sandwich at lunchtime? Any suggestions?
I've not used any down that way since before covid. I used to eat at one in Hebden Bridge, over the road from the park.

Salut tout le monde. I have been wondering if I am a bit odd when it comes to watching films. I mean, many a time, I start watching one on Prime or Netflix and never see it to the end as I get bored with it so I have many films waiting to be resumed but never will be.
To be honest, I much prefer documentaries and I find it difficult to concentrate for 1,30 hour or more watching a film, unless it is really, really good. Same with TV, I rarely watch a film on there.
Mrs G has Covid at the moment but I seem to have escaped it with just a sore throat as I tested negative last night.
I shall take Molly for a walk in a minute to breathe plenty of fresh air as the weather looks good, so far.
