The Retirement Thread

Good morning all.
A nice bright start to the day here in Barnet. The rest of the week looks pants, weather wise.
A nice long dog walk across the fields soon.
The washing machine is doing it's stuff, the bedding and other stuff needed a wash, and it's the last chance to hang it out for over a week. I really don't like using the tumble dryer.
No bike rides today though.
It's an exciting life if you don't weaken.

Morning all

First night in our 'proper' bedroom. Pitch black and extremely quiet. MrsD should be happy.
Off for a stroll into Watchet this morning to register at the local medical centre and then we'll have a spot of lunch.
We need to go to Taunton sometime this week to order a couple of new sofas and some bedroom furniture. Might do it tomorrow.

Slept well and was up at 0700.
Just made MrsD a cup of tea to go her madeira cake.
Basic house work jobs to do.
BTW I can guaranty rain later as the window cleaner is due 😕

Good day. Seven hours unbroken sleep! Yes, it is a good day. A definite nip in the air but no frost. Skiers are clear but at 6⁰ it feels nippy. I know have to decide between a winter jacket of a spring jersey and gilet. These are decisions I don't like.

Felling really quite chipper this morning. I got a lot done on the allotment yesterday which has rekindled my motivation. Being away for a month last October/November meant many jobs didn't get done on time and I've found that quite depressing. Garlic didn't get planted so I'm binning that crop for '23. I also had a bit of brain wave, rather than try for late spring crops and on through the summer I'm targeting getting crops ready for early summer but leaving space to do a better job of growing for the autumn and winter. Watch this space for updates.......or put e on ignore!

It's my turn on the rota to clean at the village sports and social club. Not something I enjoy, kitchen, loos etc. but it's about making a contribution and very few are prepared to do so.

Morning. It was minus 3 when I headed out. Another lovely walk. 8.2 miles split 70/30 between trail and road. The sun is out now so hope it warms up a bit.

I have eggs that must be eaten and defrosted sausages to cook (they are in the oven).
So is it sausage and egg barm or sausage egg and chips mmmm??

Very spring like here, washings out, two Buddleia have been pruned, we are now down the cafe, Jubilee Junction in Jubilee Crescent, for a spot of lunch.
