Busy non biking day.

Finally managed to get out for a ride

not far as 'we' only decided that we were not going out to do things at about 4 p.m.

still managed to get up to 'The Dream' - which really does NOT look like a phalic thingy from the motorway - no no not at all
anyway - go up there (stop sniggering) and started back the long way round via some country roads
and came across 2 teenage lad on mountain bike

one of them said "excuse me" so I stopped
turned out one of them had a puncture and they were 30 minutes ride - hence long walk - from home

As I always (in theory) have enough 'stuff' on me to fix a puncture , I offered to help
Naturally my pump is for Schraeder and his were the Presta type - but the end of the pump was supposed to be multi-use and witha bit of faffing it worked - but the air just came out again
I left the 2 lads trying the pump again while I panicked as the patches (self adhesive) had gone missing - finally found them tucked into a corner of a pocket on the rack bag

after a while searching for the hole
then more time searching for the thorn that caused it (the lads didn;t know to keep the tyre in the same place until you find the hole so you can find what caused it!)
then got the thing fixed


I just hope the patch held until they got home - I have had problems with those patches!

I did advise them to go straight home - but they were muttering about completing their ride!



Anyway - I have officially done my good deed

Good morning all, its a bit murky with rain forecast for later, dentist this afternoon, and I need to call the bed mechanic, my Good Ladies bed is beeping and the spanner light is on.

Off to Taunton to spend shed loads of dosh on sofas and other furniture this morning.
If I can come in under seven grand, I'll be a happy man.
Weather's looking good this morning.
Oooo.......just realised we've got a sea view from our bedroom window. I'm sitting up in bed and thinking ' what's that straight grey line in the distance?'.....then it dawned on me.
Good job the estate agents didn't realise - it would have jacked the price of the house up by a few thousand, I bet.

That sea view probably wasn’t there yesterday, it is coastal erosion, rising sea levels. Global warming, nitrous oxide, etc etc to blame
