Good morning people, had a decent nights sleep last night , I had a couple of pain killers before I went to bed, sunny here at the moment but rain forecast for later, it might disrupt our lunch and trip down the club later.

Today I will make flapjack, look at buying a couple of cycling jerseys for no reason other than I want to, iron, prepare the u3a year end accounts.

Exciting? Well, yes I do have to try and find a new, moister recipe for flapjack. @numbnuts do you have a good recipe, mine has been too dry and crumbly of late.......at this point I'll ask the rest of you to behave.

We have leeks and mushrooms which need eating up. I've found a recipe for pasta with a braised leek, mushroom and thyme pasta with a soft cheese and parmesan sauce. I'll braise the leeks etc. shortly so all that needs doing this evening is cooking the pasta. Mrs P is going out at 6.00 and she gets very grumpy if an early tea isn't ready!! I ask you.........

Morning all . It a nice sunny start to the day here in Coventry but showers are forecast as Dave r has already mentioned .
Think I will do some maintenance jobs at the sailing club ( grass and tree cutting ) then I will treat myself to some fried food on the way home . Maybe Brandon marsh or maybe I will try the cafe at Coventry canal basin that keeps popping up on my fb page .
@dave r i remember you used to use Brandon marsh but have you ever used the cafe at the canal basin ?

Mrs exlaser makes lovely moist flapjacks ( calm down folks ) . I can ask her for the recipe if you like .
That’s if she has one . Sometimes mrs exlasers cooking is a little ‘ free form ‘ 😂

PS Always best to think very carefully before using the showers emoji, depending on how and were it’s used , it can have a very different meaning . 😂😂😀😀

I've taken my Good lady up the Canal Basin cafe in her Wheelchair, its OK, a bit posh for us but nice. The original cafe at Brandon Marsh closed down, is there another cafe there now?

There is definitely one there now , I passed it on the way to my meeting there on Tuesday . I thought it look different to the last time I went there pre covid . It’s definitely had a make over . The food looked good but I was running late to didn’t get to try it.

Not been on for a while as CC suddenly blocked me. I had to search for my password as I couldn't remember it.

Piddling down here. How can there be a water shortage.
Did an Aldi dash at 0800. Just packed the car then remembered MrsD asked me to get flowers for a neighbour. So.....back in the queue just for that. I was not happy with myself.

Millie has had a long walk, the fields are pretty soggy, and the brook is running quite fast, but that doesn't seem to deter a Border Collie.
MrsP is at the wildlife centre, so domestic duties fall to me today.
I'll be out on the bike later for some essentials from the local shops. Got to keep the legs ticking over.
