Morning all.
Just enjoyed a coffee.
Supposed to be visiting MrsD at 1.0 but thats a bit up in the air as she had a bad night and they had to sedate her. The neurology team are involved today and they are checking to see if she has had a stroke.
I will not be giving a 'blow for blow' account.
Have a good day y'all 🙂

Sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time.

I'm back from a pleasant 8.4 mile walk. Jogged little bits here and there too. It's nice here at the moment.

Mornin' it's wet, again. I'm sick to the back teeth of wet and cold, well cold is relative but you know what I mean. Today I will do the chores, washing and Aldi dash and sow some lettuce and other bits for the allotment. @Dave7 look after yourself and all the best to Mrs D, thinking of you both. @Pale Rider Hi Rob. Welcome aboard

Next job is car insurance, I haven't moved for 2-3 years but this time Saga, who have been very competitive, are losing our custom. They really pissed me off a few days ago. I wanted to make a few changes to the policy to check the impact on cost but the website wouldn't allow this, please call us was the message. I didn't want to but did. The main change was to drop our annual mileage to 4,000 per car. Now I was already irritated by waiting on the phone etc. and when I was told reducing the mileage would increase the premium by £36 per vehicle that was it, bingo, I'm gone. Quite beyond me. I dropped the mileage from 5000 to 4000, true figures from the MOT, that's a 20% reduction in the risk and Saga want more money! Geeez.

May is an expensive month here, two MOTs, car insurance x 2, VED x 2, TV licence................

Mrs P is out all day. She's going to Clitheroe with a friend. I know Clitheroe, I know the friend, be afraid for me, be very afraid...................just wondering if I should call the bank for a loan.

Next is boiled eggs, toast and coffee

Up at 8.25am which is v.early for us two. Got up for no particular reason.

Looks lacklustre outside today - very dismal. A couple of rain spells forecast.

What's on the cards today:

A short walk if showers allow.

A session in the gym.

Some Kindle-reading - very good book on the go. I have had a book 'on the go' continuously since Sep 2003.

No party night and associated shenanighans last night as Mrs SD has a cold sore and is not very kissable at the mo'.

@PaulSB Our car insurance demand, received 2 days ago, has gone up 57%! No accidents etc in last year. A Meerkat session beckons.

@Dave7 Thoughts are with you. You are in a situation that both of us here truly dread. Hope Mrs D is as comfortable as she can be.

Taking a break from bush trimming and now relaxing with a cuppa on my verandah.
Sun's out and it's really too warm for this kind of work - might give it a miss for the rest of the day; besides which, MrsD's decided to peg a load of washing on the line and I don't think she'd appreciate my screaming 2 stroke trimmer working nearby. See........I'm thoughtful like that.

Expensive month for me too as I made the mistake of clicking annual payment for my road tax: 180 pounds instead of clicking the monthly one at 15 pounds. When I phoned the DVLA to try and correct it, they said I would have to phone my bank and cancel the DD and do a new one. Can't be bothered with that so I let it go. We are also going to the Beamish museum near Newcastle next week and North Devon at the end of the month, to our daughter's for a few days, so high petrol bill in May too.
Like I said, expensive month this month.
