Good evening. It's been a beautiful day here in the Lakes. I'm currently at Buttermere YHA were we have a room for four for £40 - try saying that after a beer. Breakfast is all you can eat for £9.95.

We've been up Haystacks today. A good and challenging walk and Wainwright's favourite. His ashes were scattered at Innominate tarn at the top. Stunning views down Buttermere water and Great Langdale.

YHAs have moved on since I was last in one. Small bar with good selection and a restaurant serving decent basic food.

I'm cream crackered so time for 💤💤💤

Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
Morning all.
I'm back from a few sunny days in South Devon.
Today's highlight is a Sainsbury's delivery between 10 and 11 and then trying to register for a refund from GWR as both trains were over 30 minutes late arriving at Paignton going, and Paddington coming back. It wasn't actually their fault, but Network Rail track/points problems.
Only a few days at home, then I'm off to Utrecht in the Netherlands for 5 days.
It's a busy life.😁

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Morning. Not a bad morning here. Much like yesterday. Bit overcast and cool but dry.

Nice 7 mile walk done up the hill then back down to walk along the side of the loch. I was laughing at two little birds that seemed to be playing a game. Not sure if they were very young coots or moorhens. They kept diving under the water at the same time then popped back up a few yards away and made this silly noise that sounded like they were giggling at each other. Made me chuckle too

You didn't join them in diving under the surface of the water?

Well - the plan for today was to get up - have brekky and go for a ride
as this afternoon SWMBO has an appointment for some sort of face beauty treatment
dunno why
and yes I have done the "how could they possibly make you more beautiful" thing - she rolled her eyes but I think she just expects it

so - for reasons - this means that we have to visit Dunelm to return some faulty bits and look for some stuff to "dress" the bathrooms

CLEARLY this needs to be before the appointment because [enter reason here]

anyway - its ******* down - that light stuff that will soak you in a few seconds
so a ride is out - I'm not mad
looking at the Met Office I will maybe have a go after we get home this afternoon
assuming I am not seconded to hang stuff on walls or something
