Hello! Blue skies and sunshine in Lancashire. Today is a very busy day as not much has happened chores wise of late:
  • Two weeks of ironing - DONE
  • Two days of tidying - STARTED
  • Three weeks of housework to do - NEXT
  • Grass to cut - LATER
  • Allotment to tend - LATER
  • Car clean - postponed
  • Bike TLC - possibly but likely postponed 😢
The guys rode brilliantly yesterday: 237 miles, 16.7avg, 11000 feet, ride time 14:13, total trip time 18:30 Funds raised to date £12000 for Derian House Children's Hospice which is our club charity. Everything we raise through the year goes to Derian.

As the son and grandkids aren't here this morning, they're on holiday by the seaside, 15 month olds first time by the sea, I would have loved to be there, I'm working my way through our ironing, but only a weeks worth.

Morning. It was an overcast and slightly chilly start for us up here but I have been out for a spin. Longest for nearly a year I think. 32 miles and a bit of hills so quite happy with that. My back and neck were getting a bit achy towards the end anyway.

I think I'll have porridge this morning rather than muesli to heat me up.

Well done.

That's some ride there. Great effort and great cause.

Good effort Mo.

I'm quite regimented with my routine, probably a hangover from a career of army and dibble employment. The good news is it means thihgs get done as I run a tight ship. The bad news is I get tetchy if something interrupts my routine.

We're all different but the thought of a regimented retirement doesn’t do it for me.

I had a pressured career from the off, lots of goals, targets, deadlines and managing very large teams and it was fun but when the time came to turn it all off; it was absolute bliss.

Resolved to lead an unstructured non-routine life thereafter.

Has anyone watched The Gallows Pole
It’s about the Crag Vale Coiners The story has been dramatised some what but sticks to the actual account of the Crag Vale Coiners It’s on BBC 2

No, but somebody else on the forum said it was good so I might catch up on it.

Little 4.5 mile wander along the riverside done. That will do me for the day. It’s getting too busy anyway.
