I watched the last half hour of the TDF.

I got engrossed in the tennis and forgot all about it. Still watching Alcaraz and Medvedev. I think one of the commentators must fancy Alcaraz he goes on about him that much. Thought they were supposed to be unbiased.

Had a nice lunch at Porlock Weir today; fish fingers and chips in the Bottom Ship followed by stem ginger ice cream from the shop on the quay.
I've always liked Porlock - it's got a nice 'feel' about it - even when it's peeing down.

Night night everyone .

Have had a strange day all due to a fb post and it was all to do with scrap books . A man posted on a local fb site that he had a been given a job lot of scrap books about Warwick sailing club ( where mrs exlaser and I had learned to sail)and wondered if anyone wanted them. Mrs exlaser and I recognised them straight away. We knew well the man that had recorded them, starting in the 1950s until the club closed in the mid 1990s and we were only wondering a few weeks ago what had happened to them .
It’s one of those twist of fate thing , a plumber that knew the OP moved into a house where a man had died and all his personal possessions had been left unclaimed and knew that the OP loved local history . It’s all very strange , in one way we are happy we have regained this tiny bit of history which brings back a lot of happy memories and which we will share round the remaining ex members of the club ( including mrs exlasers father ) . Before we give them to Warwick records office, who are interested in them .
On the other hand is sad to think that a lovely couple we knew well had died, with out us knowing ( they must have been in their 80s and didn’t have kids ) and no one in their extended family could be bothered to go through their possessions, which to be honest is all we all leave behind once we are gone, other than memories. 😕

Morning all :hello:

Nice morning, by the looks of it. Might get my back lawns cut.
I'm starting to get overloaded with tomatoes - not complaining, as I love 'em. My chillies area abundant as well.
Our fledgling seagulls appear to have flown their nest. It was a lot quieter this morning. :okay:

:hello: Good morning folks, the carers here already, the week day one is usually late and the weekend one is usually early. Its dull grey and windy rain later, the wind blew over one of my pots of sweet peas yesterday, what happened to the summer?

Morning all.
Just started to rain in Coventry , it’s supposed to showery . Don’t think I will be doing much to day . Probably a coffee shop run in the morning then watch the tour while looking at the scrap books and remembering friends that are no longer with us.
We were supposed to be having a family fun day at my sailing club in the afternoon to day , with informal sailing , a duck race ( with plastic ducks before anyone asks 😂) bbq etc etc but we cancelled, rain and 40mph winds would not have made it much fun .
Re the weather , I know it’s not great at the moment but I think I would rather have his weather than the heat wave they are having over in Europe . Temperatures in the 40s are not for me .
Have a good day everyone. 😀
