Anglesey is very nice but you may have to learn Welsh. My daughter lives there and she speaks fluent Welsh.
Depends on the area
Beaumaris - not too Welsh
Holyhead -same
The rest - look for a course - based on my experience - at least it helps when you can say the basics
as anothoer point, having lived there for over 10 years - sometimes locasl speak in English but fast and with an accent so it is easy to think it is Welsh when it isn;t
Had an amusing occasion when I was in Bethesda with my daughter who speaks Welsh due to school. There were some ENglish people on the table next to us who were complaining about the people on the other side of them speaking Welsh
My daughter - who was about 9 at the time - leaned over to me and asked why the English were complaining when no-one was speaking Welsh!!
As another little story - it was always weird on the high street when there were a lot of local teenagers around. As they all had been doing Welsh at school since they started Primary school they were mostly pretty fluent.
The conversations at times would switch seamlessly between the 2 languages seamlessly - each person contributing to the conversation based on their normal language or who they were replying to
They didn;t even realise they were doing it
When I was a teacher in Rhyl - lets just say this didn;t happen!
