The Retirement Thread

Morning all.
I'll be out with the dog soon, and then I'll settle down to watch the women's World cup final.
I might get out on the bike after that.
I bought a nice piece of rolled loin of pork from the butcher yesterday, so for dinner it's roast pork, apple sauce, roast potatoes, parsnips, Swede, carrots and fresh green beans from the garden. That should keep us going for a day or so.

Good morning, weather looks good, will be watching the football later, daughter and granddaughter due to arrive back in Poole this evening having travelled Eurostar from Lille. We will do Pizza and a birthday cake 🎂 as granddaughter had her 6th birthday while she was away.

Morning folks bright n breezy here. Just finished submitting a form to the council to get my sob neighbour to fix his fence. Didnt want it to come to this but all attempts/appeals to said neighbour have failed. Yesterday i noticed 2 posts are in my garden! when the property was vacant he illegally entered the back garden and bodged some posts in. For 5 months i had the fence propped up to stop it blowing down....each time i asked when he was going to fix it i'd get fobbed off. So i removed them basically saying fix it ****er! Good fences make good neighbours!

Morning. Even warmer and more humid this morning. Fed up of it. I’ll get out for a leisurely stroll while it’s quiet then get back for the morning athletics session.

It’s Crieff Highland Games today so the town will be busy later.

Will you be taking part in those games.

got up the enthusiasm to go for a ride then realised it was more windy out than I though from the garden but just changed my route and went anyway
As usual started up Strava to record it - and so SWMBO can see where I am so if I die she knows where to sent the undertakers (or whatever)

anyway - after a mile or two I saw some mattresses just dumped against a wall under the railway bridge so I stopped and took a photo so I can report it as fly tipping

got home after 22 miles and went onto my phone to stop Strava and it said it had encountered a problem but was restarting the recording

seems like it stopped when I took the photo and restarted when I got home - so apparently I did 3.51 miles!!!

ah well - no good turn ever goes unpunished

must report those matresses!!
